Murphy looked fantastic on a positive. He should have tonnes of assists this season.

On a more negative note, he's now injured too

Its why I hate assist stats. Put a great ball on a plate, forward fucks up...no assist. Scuff a shot that forward pics ups and scores.....assist!

Someone's started a thread about it "The offside rule."

Go and have a look at that.

Watch it back. Haaland is about 100mm behind Pope and he's blocking Thiaw off, who's trying to get across to cover Pope's left hand side (where they scored).

It was honestly one of the best calls I've seen from VAR.

Think that was a game too far in the legs. We lacked any real drive in our play

Bruno looked out on his feet. Try and rest him Sunday

Thank fucking god no one on this forum manages the team. This is an insanely defeatist attitude.

Have you seen where the fixture is?

28th Jan - Away to PSG

31st Jan - Away to Liverpool

4th Feb - Away to City

I don't think it's defeatist. I think it's just realistic. Especially with the fact we have a 2 goal deficit to overturn I think we need to prioritise elsewhere.

It's freed up the 2nd leg for us to let the first team get some rest in at least. Has to be the reserves in that match. Given the congestion I just don't see how we can be competitive in it especially from 2 goals down.

We don’t have any reserves, just a pool of players all around the same ability that we’ve already been rotating all season.

Then that’s a bizarre call.  It’s only parts of your body which are legal to play the ball which can be ruled off.

Haalands foot is clearly offside, it's well beyond Popeys arse, what I couldn't believe was they were taking so long to decide that and then asking the ref to see if he intervened with play

Is that the first time and offside VAR call has went to the pitch side screen ? We thought it must've been a push extra to the offside.

Legitimate question, but what are these big chances we created?

Wissa snatched at one early doors.

Trafford made a brilliant save from Wissa.

Then Bruno hit the post.

I know it's verboten, but City's last ditch defending was excellent. Nick should shoot first time, but it's a fractional call, Khusanov does brilliantly.

We have to win on Sunday though and knowing Bruno there's enough time for him to be back to his best by then. I'm so fucking happy we don't play on Saturday this week tbh.

Sandro’s chance was a decent one, for someone of his quality.

Snatched at one early doors isnt really painting it in its true colours. Blazed a one on one over by about 10yds when in time and space from about 12yds is a better description.

Thought we played well tbh. First goal came when we had 10 men on the pitch but the second goal is a killer. Puts us out.

Bit disappointing we couldn’t score against that Man City back line, mind. Ah well.

I forgot, we actually don't have any reserves at all. Just some u-21s who seem to be way below level required and never involved. We're a very thin squad really.

Tonali should really hit the target too.

The inability to throw another youngster or two in from the Academy isn’t helpful. Incidentally they got dicked 5-0 by Benfica today, further showing how far we have to bridge the youth levels.

Also as an aside, sick of playing these and giving Haaland absolutely fuck all just for another of the cunts to pop up with something, think he's scored a pen against us in the 3-3 and that's it?

I actually thought that we were slightly the better team. Very unjust result. We deserved at least a draw. Man City are awesome like.

On 0 points in that international cup competition. 0 goals scored and 10 conceded after 4 games against Benfica, Zagreb, PSG and Sociedad.

Yeah, I think his foot is ahead of Pope too - I’m not at all convinced that his positioning made any difference or that he was interfering with play

Shouldn’t even be competing with the neglect our academy suffered over 15 years.
