Aston Villa 1-3 Newcastle United (14/02/25) | post-match reaction from pg. 62

Villa really didnt fancy it today.

Please use these last two games as a confidence boost lads. Far from convinced by us in attack and Tripps is an absolute liability.

Great result. One of only 4 teams to beat villa at home this year is no mean feat.

Good performance overall, thought Woltemade looked good in that deeper role, which is a boost for the period while Bruno's out.

Even though we won we should still be vocal about that officiating performance, which was a disgrace. The handball being given as a freekick is possibly the worst decision I've ever seen

Showed a lot of resilience there. Heads could have easily gone down after the woeful decisions.

If we didn't have City on the horizon, I might start to believe its the start of another Eddie Howe run.

They've blown me away there like. So impressed. Didn't expect a performance like that at all.

The fact that we overcame an immense amount of bullshit all without Bruno is huge, especially considering the issues with our mentality this season.

Fantastic result.

I didn't even celebrate the equaliser as I was still fuming over the none penalty 😂🙈

I did, Mrs B stuck her head in the lounge and said shut up you cock

I was a bit loud to be fair [emoji38]

Ten men or not, we all know how difficult it can be to beat ten men. It was also a very good ten Villa players on the pitch so I'm proud of the boys. A great win that I did not expect and a birthday goal for the Wolf.

Well done lads. Hopefully a kind draw in the next round, maybe the team that beat Burnley. We deserve an easier draw.
