We could have done without Evanilsons red card yesterday
-
We're overdue correcting of our form against these because Brighton are the type of side I'd expect our style to get wins more often than not. 2-1. Proper grind win.
-
I don’t think he’s got a soft touch if you know what I mean. Powerful, energetic, as you said - great attitude, reads the game well and hits the ball hard. Looks like what I imagine a good German striker would look like Good fit for Villa I reckon. Apart from Isak we lack finesse in the final 3rd. Don’t think Delap would solve that on his own.
-
In six successive matches, Brighton have conceded at least two goals (2, 3, 2, 2, 4, 2).

In games like yesterday where we have loads of the ball. Don't really need that extra CM, then you can have Delap occupying CBs/runs, with Isak playing off him in more space / finding the ball, with us knowing there's still an option in the box. Going to find more games as we move forward where we are giving more of the ball, so there's going to be many times we need to change approach. What let us down it felt last season being rigid to the 4-3-3, than when we tried something in a 4-2-3-1 with Gordon it didn't work. Having a fast CB who can sweep up counters is essential part of this too. Wilson / Isak worked well as an option previously, not had that possibility all season due to Wilson falling off a cliff edge.

Brighton is such a weird game. We have a mixed record against them at home and a horrendous record against them away. They aren't in great form ATM but then we also might be missing Jolinton. That said if we do manage to beat them and assuming Chelsea don't beat Liverpool (i.e. a draw or lose), I'll go from thinking we are slightly more likely not to get CL than we are ATM, to thinking we are slightly more likely to get cl. Under this scenario, we'd just need a draw to Chelsea and a win to everton (assuming we lose to arsenal) to secure cl. These next two games are are massive. -
Lecce is an amazing city, the ground isn't in such a good area and I wasn't allowed in for a visit when passing. Enjoy!
-
Looks like he played a lot on the right at Hull...
-
He's an amazing coach who complains none stop. You can never give him enough for him to be moaning.
-
I'm going to Lecce Vs Napoli on Saturday, which is a big game for both ends of the table. Bari vs Pisa on Sunday too - Pisa might be up by then depending what happens on Thursday's games. Bari pushing for play offs.

Wasnt Tevez about 5ft 6? Delap looks about 6ft.
-
I think Delap is class. Didn’t like him flopping at the weekend, needs to drop that from his game but he’s a very well rounded centre forward. No idea how we’d use him though so not that desperate to sign him
-
He has very good feet / good skill / scores goals / strong / great attitude
-
If we can sign one Tonali Isak out of the blue style player of the highest calibre who would you want it to be? For me it would be Arda Guler
-
Semenyo is a lot more than a run merchant, he’s a really good player but probably not good business at this stage
-
Apols - was on my holibob's - so see you all next season i think.
-
Is it just me or was this really cringe and weird? Dude is clearly pretending to inteview Isak by just editing in footage of his responses. He may well have been the one originally asking the questions in person but then if he was, why not just use the live material instead?
-
Our modern day Hayden/Hendrick/Jogback. He's here until next summer. At best someone loans him in January for the remaineder of the season before he leaves on a free. Deal made sense at the time so can't blame anyone for how it turned out. Wish him all the best.

Reminds me of tevez. Low centre of gravity, strong, hard working.
