In a bar on holiday last night and the bloke who runs the pub quiz (Jimmy the fish), who as the name refers to is a Grimsby fan. He was talking to some Charlton fans about that play off game they had with Sunderland back in the 90s and Clive Mendonca who scored a hat trick against his hometown club. I was telling them how much I laughed at the outcome of that game. Then they reminded me how Charlton beat them in the league one play off final too and I laughed some more. The Grimsby fan was saying Mendonca was a legend while he was there but works at Nissan these days. Funny how things turn out. Sunderland aside we dug out some football memories like how we'd regularly be in the same 2nd division as Grimsby. Jim Dobbin scoring to beat us at SJP and end the winning run of 92/93 then us winning promotion at Blundell park. I could remember the bearded goalkeeper they had in the 80s, Nigel Batch, round about the time of the Yorkshire ripper case. I was saying how we would sing "There's only one Peter Sutcliffe" and he said one of the local press photographers had a similar appearance and he reckons the toon fans spotted this and went on to sing "There's only two Peter Sutcliffes". The good old days ☺

Fuck man. With that and £30 mill for Gomez they'll be all over Isak.
-
If we are interested they’ll put in a bid to keep him.
-
I still like it. Looks bloody lovely on Bruno, and the long sleever is nice 👍🏻

30 mil for Joe Gomez

So Pedro is off to Chelsea then? It’s almost as though we have to sift through our top 2 or 3 players in each position because they’ll ultimately go to Chelsea. How many senior players do they have on their books now? Must be at least 50.

The home kit I don’t mind. I can see what they're trying to do and it definitely looks better on/in person. The green kit is pretty inoffensive. Personally I prefer it to the Castore one, certainly there's nothing wrong with it. The green doesn't bother me either, we're owned by the Saudis, their money has played a massive part in getting us where we are so I take the rough with the smooth. This one though...I don't even know what they're going for. They've taken a very unique shirt (I didn't and don't like it but that's subjective) and taken everything unique about it away, just leaving a rubbish combination of colours. Really, they should just give @Kid Icarus the gig - sack off the design team and let him crack on.

That’s a very big fee for someone that’s still looked more ropey than good. Big gamble on the potential. I’d want to see more from him for us to make a move at that price point.

I look forward to seeing him at St James next season........ On the bench....... In a Chelsea tracksuit.

Essential viewing that like. Whoever sorted that out on the media side needs piping off.

That guy is Gold tier as an FPL source.

PL don't have on orange option but the club font might do.

Just been reading on how the draw works. Every team faces two sides from each pot which I think negates any advantage teams get from being in pots. Pots simply exist now to try and maintain a fair split of fixtures for all teams.

That 3rd shirt is awful. Apart from the fact it's inspired by a shirt that has zero good vibes associated with it, it's also a terrible tribute to the original - that 98 shirt was interesting because of the vertical stripes, the offset sponsor, the unusual colours and the giant seahorse. This new one doesn't have ANY of that and the colours are wrong. The only thing it seems to get right is the badge but I've never known anyone have any fondness for the original. Also, that type of collar is never popular. Would love to know if adidas do market research on these things.

Be more surprised if Liverpool would accept a similarly priced bid from us or any other league rival. If he's 40m for Leverkusen, he's probably 50m+ for us.
-
I mean I'm sure most of that article is bollocks. But, and fair enough they can charge what they want he's their player, but come on, what the hell has he done for them to quote anywhere near £85m? The only reason he would be in the £50m bracket for me is purely because they already paid a high fee to get him. But his suspensions last year, and general performance didn't warrant anywhere near an asking price like that and I rate him a lot and think he'd slot in perfectly for us at RW. But the facts are he hasn't lived up to his ability so far and under the right coach like Eddie he could and likely would kick on to a much higher performance level but so far he hasn't shown that at West Ham.

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup

Yeah that’s what happened last time. Would be a bit unlucky if Friday ends up a stronger lineup than Saturday. -

It is annoying like, ive already bought (very expensive) trains for the Saturday morning, and made work commitments on the Friday; had I known there'd be a Friday game I'd likely have booked off work and stayed over etc. Even more frustrating as it will also mean there'll be two separate squads most likely now, so you're not getting a full side. -
Almost. Tapsoba to Newcastle, Quansah to Leverkusen, Guehi to Liverpool, Diomande to Palace.

Personally don’t think we’ll sign anybody off to the AFCON. It’s held in December this year (including games on Christmas eve) so would miss a key part of the season. I am way too lazy to see if Ghana are involved but I assume they are.
