  1. Past hour
  2. At Brighton's asking prices? sounds tough.
  3. Cabaye refused to play for us and only played when we guaranteed he could leave in January. He also missed a pen for Palace at SJP which was funny
  4. The fact liverpool aint gonna receive a penny from the sale of a top academy grown player is so hilarious.
  5. Is Baleba going to join a proper club this summer?
  6. Owen is the only one from that list imo. Was there any reason to hate Cabaye? I hated Duff when he was here but an irrelevance thereafter. Enrique got his comeuppance and Carroll was complicated; I was fuming at the time but let's face it, it was just Ashley. It was always very sour with Bellamy after he left.
  7. Trent ain't the right back that real madrid need. How can you be constantly conceding and decide bringing in trent as the answer. But I guess it really doesn't matter when FFP will never be a problem for you. Plus its also on a free.
  8. If I remember correctly, Given got some stick in here.
  9. jcat

    Joelinton

Yeah, he’s been excellent this season at LB but wouldn’t be surprised if LCM ended up as his best position for us.
  10. I have no feelings one way or another regarding Cole, Enrique, Duff, Carroll, Jenas or anyone else tbh. However, Owen.. I hate that greedy twat with a passion.
  11. Barton, Watson, Beye 🤣 Joking aside I'd put Trips above him over the course of his career
  12. Liverpool fans taking the news well I see. Ironic given their reaction to Zubimendi turning them down.
  13. I'd definitely consider three at the back here. I'd do something similar to the Arsenal home game in the LC semi. As mentioned above, Schär stepping out of the three with Bruno and Tonali holding. Bypass the midfield if we have to (like the LC final) and let the front three do their thing. I'd bring Gordon back in, probably for Barnes. Let's hope for an Eddie masterclass.
  14. So shortsighted, the fact they were considering getting rid shows they don't have confidence in him. They're newly promoted so they obviously will have a rough patch at some point, probably early on, he'll then get sacked straight away and they'll have to bring someone in mid season, with Farkes players and system, and try and firefight. If you're not 100% on board with him then sack him off and bring someone in early so they can build their team and system over the summer.
  15. TRon

    Joelinton

Not a bad shout. Hall was a converted midfielder iirc, so he should have some of the attacking/defensive attributes needed. The real difficulty is replacing Joelinton's physicality. He's a beast, and with that height he's important at set pieces also.
  16. Exactly. As although Chelsea could still pass us on GD they'd have to beat Forest to do that, meaning the best Forest could get would be 69, and they'd have to overturn a nine goals difference. One of them could pass us but not both. That may even improve tonight if Forest don't beat Palace.
  17. Same points, GD AND same goals scored before h2h comes into it. But given we’re 4 goals ahead it would take a fairly odd set of results over the last two games for it to come down to that, so I wouldn’t fret.
  18. They defended really well mind, we kept getting into great positions and put in a lot of crosses, but their defenders were first to every ball and blocked just about everything. I can barely recall their keeper making a save. Wilson's effort near the end maybe.
  19. I mean he's 36 in 91 for Real Madrid in first couples seasons as an AM, and is still 21 years old That being said, he's played like 300 professional games already and has a few recurring niggles. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of burnout already this season.
  20. How do you judge that as LCM covers quite a lot of ground anywhere in the centre to LW to LB?
  21. It is, but it's partly because of where they're receiving the ball.
  22. Kanj

    Joelinton

You could tell he’s not been as quick since the Liverpool cup final.
  23. It’s Tonali and Bruno who should be keeping the ball who often play low percentage balls for seemingly no reason. That’s just how we play.
  24. I wouldn’t start Willock for this and I’d bring Gordon in for Barnes. Horses for courses, we need Murphy’s tracking back, Gordon’s energy and extra pace, Miley is a better fit against Chelsea. We need to snuff Palmer out, Joelinton will be a miss.
  25. Abacus

    Joelinton

I always think back to what some of the players said when we were struggling. They were talking about 5 a-side training matches and who was the first player you'd pick for your team. It was Joelinton, because he absolutely never give up and was a nightmare to play against. Think other teams have seen this now. Then I remember how he got his own personal trainer to help turn his career around. He's unique and I'm not sure who you'd even scout if you were looking for a replacement. Get well soon big fella. You're a huge miss, but come back when you're ready.
