  1. Past hour
  2. It’s fairly pointless having the award shortlist if it just always goes to the team that wins the league. Apart from Howe I would give it to Nuno just to spite the Forest owner.
  3. Yeah, I wouldn’t criticise what they’ve done in any way, I’d actually be very positive about it on the whole, but it still doesn’t really put them in the frame for me. It’s slightly odd season, in that you can be fairly complementary about the majority of managers in the league. Obviously Ange and Amorim have been catastrophic, Pep poor by his standards, Maresca iffy (although probably satisfactory enough IF they make CL), but everyone else bar the bottom three, you’d be happy with to varying degrees.
  4. But you also want rid of VAR altogether don't you? I'm at the point where I'd rather not have it than have it (altogether) because I think it's inherently flawed, but theoretically I can see the value in it being applied in limited scenarios. For instance, upgrading Jackson's yellow to a red because the on-field referee was unable to see, in real time, the severity of the offence is a very good use of VAR. But the inherent flaw is how an almost identical offence was missed the week before (Enciso on Tonali), or how an identical outcome was wrongfully applied the week prior (Evanilson v Man Utd). I've always been categorically against it on offsides and my view on that will never change.
  5. The question is whether the late flag somehow compels players to crash into the goalpost or makes such instances significantly more likely. I don't think the effect is significant, but the late flag does encourage more goalmouth action, because assistant referees are told to keep their flag down in the case of a goalscoring opportunity which might then be reviewed by VAR. An upturn in goalmouth action doesn't feel like a reason to scrap the late flag, instances of players crashing into the goalpost are not uncommon but severe injury seems exceedingly rare, and if you think otherwise you might make the same sort of case against the advantage rule, excess stoppage time, call for corner kicks to be replaced by throw-ins, etc.
  6. Sounds like someone who'd enjoy Dubai.
  7. Eddie for me as well. No new first team players for three transfer windows, massively hampered by PSR and coached the team to 2nd place. Done an amazing job. Slot had the squad in place and the money to spend to strengthen.

    Sven Botman

I’m not yet concerned but I’m starting to be. Hope Mitchell et al have a succession plan in place.
  9. I'm not completely disagreeing but winning it at a canter, with Klopps side, in a year with very little resistance from Citeh or Arsenil just doesn't feel as impactful as some of the others IMO
  10. Down to 24/5 in the time it took me to go and log in!
  11. This is an extreme overreaction. Returning from ACL injuries is often not straightforward, but they aren’t a death sentence like they used to be. I’d be more concerned if he has a full preseason and can’t stay fit next season.
  12. Slot deserves it like, he basically never signed anyone either. I think Howe would have absolutely pissed the league this season with Liverpool's team like.
  13. I guess if you only look at positions in league tables without any context - Fulham lose their best player every season and are never near relegation. Pereira at Wolves has done well but that Wolves squad should never have been as bad as O'Neil had them
  14. But you also want rid of VAR altogether don't you?
  15. They've absolutely pissed it though, effectively had it won by February and been top of the league since November.

And should have been sent off for bringing Isak down when he was in 1on1
  17. Leicester have announced Sunday will be Vardy's last game for the club, if he scores it's 200 goals for the club, seems highly possible he'll get booked in the resulting celebration. Can get 14/1 on betMGM which is much bigger than most other places, Skybet moved from 12/1 to 9/1 in under 5 minutes so think other's are playing the same angle, glgl if you get on it.

Ballard I've only just stopped laughing at the bullshit going around before Christmas saying we were looking at him
  19. Slot will no doubt get it. New manager, new league, big 6 etc. Could not give a fuck if he does. What Howe has achieved this year only really matters to us, the fans - the club. He should get it but I won't worry too much if he does not. Happy for us to keep growing quietly in the background
  20. They also binned Kilusevski off on the cheap a few years ago. Who the fuck is in charge of their transfer policy?
  21. I’d say ‘decent’ seasons, with very good/excellent moments. Ultimately it looks like they’ll finish 10th and 11th, which is nothing to be sniffed at, but not really ‘Manager of the Season’ worthy.
