Not watched a full match but begrudgingly quite enjoyed watching the highlights of the CWC. The fans of South American, Japanese and African clubs have been really impressive. The principle of it is good, and I do think having this proper tournament once every four years is better than the truncated mini version in the middle of every season. Main issue is the distorting finances behind it and also I just can't see how the scheduling isn't just too much for players.

He can’t be everywhere at once, there’s been games that we’ve been overrun in midfield when he’s played. He has pace but the others around him don’t seem to have that quick acceleration from standstill, it’s something we should be looking at, even if it’s just cover for games where we just need that sort of energy.. We’re already a good team and it’s just minor tweaks to the starting 11 that will bring us to the next level. JP is a good signing if it happens. If we can get a ball playing dominant RCB, a goalkeeper who can save as well as Pope but who can keep possession through distribution and a bit more reliable cover for midfield, I reckon we’ll kick on again next season. The extra games are going to take a toll so we need more bodies for the smaller games, if we play all our best players week in week out and with CL.. we’ll be fucked by December.

For that money I'd be happy to sell. But I'd also be happy to keep him and turn down that bid. Love seeing him play for us, he's genuinely world class, and when he's fit and playing we can beat anyone in the world. Similarly though every team sells good players at some point so if he did go for some ridiculous fee then so be it.

I will say reject it, not because they are cunts (which they are tbh) But you don't sell a world-class player to a team you are aiming to compete with in the future. They'll basically have two guaranteed 20-goal scorers. I'd rather sell to Bayern, PSG, etc., for €20 million less than any English club. And hey, once you sell to an English team, other players, like Tino, for instance (Man City's all over him), will probably leave, 'cause you've shown you'll sell to rivals.

He’s an absolute top player I remember him running us ragged for Watford at St James’ Patk in one of Eddie Howrs first games Sure he scored a great header ? I was buzzing with the Fabrizip Romano tweet a few years ago when he said we had signed him for 25m 60m Is sterp but he has all the attributes to be a great player with us (if we can get him) He can play anywhere at the top end of the pitch and has everything in his locker including that edge

Fair play mate, I think its unfair to judge a players injury record over 2 seasons only when he has been consistent in all bar 1 season at the club. Especially when the bulk of the games missed were in one season. Might as well say Rodri has been injured a lot for Man City these last 2 seasons aye, plus he is also getting older.
