Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the consensus is that the dynamic of the derby has changed significantly since we were last in the same league as each other, the lows of a defeat now significantly outweigh the highs of a win. If we lose = I'm not even going to imagine what they'd say There is no iota of a doubt who the best team in the North East is, there never will be again, we have nothing to prove by beating those slugs twice a season. I get the feeling most of us are happy to seem them decompose in the lower leagues for all eternity, subjecting their fans to nothing but abject misery. I know they'd be humiliated in the PL and they'd get shat back down to the Championship quicker than you could say 'wheeze keeys are theyyyz' but I don't want them experiencing a single nanosecond of the joy that winning the play offs would bring. Maybe so. I wouldn't complain if he was to come in as he's miles better than Hojlund. I think Delap carries the same risk as Hojlund, but at a significantly lower cost. I do think Delap is the first choice should we not get Champions League football, but think we'll try for better if we win the cup. Going to be a huge summer either way. Has the potential to transform us.
