Mackems getting hard ons over the headline on RTG. Desperation again on a nothing story. The level of threads containing increased faux outrage, comfy blankets, not interested in footy anymore, and the usual basic lies since our cup victory, have went up quite a dramatic level. I thought when our takeover happened, their response and utter fewm/bitterness was glorious to see, but, our cup win has sent them madly over the edge. Us getting Champions League football will send them over the edge, whilst if we don't, it will be seen as one of the greatest days in their footballing lives. We may well be playing them next season, as the standard is the worst I've ever seen in the Championship, and I wouldn't put money on any of the play off teams who qualify winning. Could quite literally be any of them. I would have preferred Burnley or Leeds to finish in third, but, it's looking more like a Sheff Utd team in poor form will be the ones. If the mackems don't go up this year, then they will be forced to sell players and have another three teams within the league with a lot more revenue available to them. Doesn't affect us, they are miles away from us and that will only increase moving forward.

"A summer with 3 quality recruits, and we are comfortably ahead of them again." Seems to be forgetting we will (hopefully) be recruiting a few quality players ourselves . Just concentrate on getting ahead of Brentford and Palace again you silly cunt

For me Cunha is a Joelinton upgrade, he has most of the same attributes, and is much better on the ball. He can also play anywhere across the front line or off a front man if we need to change things up. Going from 1 thread where Fernandes walks into our team as our best midfielder, but Cunha doesnt fit in. Baffling.

I get the jitters but they were awful against Lyon. - Today

Cuhna has a feel of one of those players the club references when they say they're not been looking to do business but will make a move if the right player comes up. On one hand, he'd absolutely solidify our depth in the front 5. On the other, it'd be somewhat a square peg in a round hole if they used the limited funds we have to purchase and play him at RW at the expense of specialist RWinger. Don't think either school of thought is wrong tbh.

Our performances definitely improve against the "bigger" clubs though. Would expect an improved performance from the lads with it being Manchester Reds & the dangle of UCL football.

I’ve a weird feeling Man Utd will beat us. They are much better than many give them credit for and we aren’t playing that well ourselves. Probably wasn’t helped seeing just the one magpie today!

Urgh this kind of AI is as horrible as mutton chops himself -
a few on the old red cafe can't accept the different trajectories of the two clubs, a good few think they are in for a mullering

Well at least like the bloody post then. I need my dopamine goddamit.

There's only so much Lego a man can buy for @christ's sake.

That's not the only difference. Miggy and Murphy both work their arses off to press and defend. I think Cunha is really good like.

Well, he's different innit. He's a class player but very different to Bruno or Tonali. FWIW It's excellent that we're discussing how good Manchester's one good player is. -
Bruno Fernandes would be our best midfielder and would fit seamlessly into our side, to suggest anything else just isn’t accurate I’m afraid. Hes carried that team for at least 3-4 seasons now.

Can't recall anybody wanting us to sign Adam Armstrong, but thinking about it even now it might not be that bad of a shout. Say we want Osula to go on loan and are willing to sell one of Gordon or Barnes to fund a superstar right winger or marauding part-cover for Isak. Well in that situation Armstrong might be ideal as third-choice cover for the left wing and striker positions, given that he'd be cheap, homegrown and surely willing to sit on the bench. After the likes of Almiron and Murphy, he's talented enough to be Howe's next reclamation project.

Martyn Ziegler of The Times just posted a scare story about Tonali facing a further betting investigation. https://www.thetimes.com/sport/football/article/sandro-tonali-gambling-investigatioin-newcastle-cx0jl20lb In fact, he isn't... But the headlines, right? And out come the wankers shouting for another ban... mostly scousers btw.
