They might have a problem this year as the CL goodies only feature next year. No idea what the position is but imagine they will be fairly close seeing as they were close last year and haven't increased any revenues really this year

Left field but I'd take a punt at a few million on Viptonik at Swansea, he's basically Mitro lite but Slovenian rather than Serbian. He's not going to be a 20 goal a season player but he's got potential to be a decent mobile target man

I think Rafa is totally genuine in that he allows himself to be immersed in a region and a fan base. He absolutely plays the game with the media and with owners but that's professional and not personal.

Newcastle United vs. Brentford: 02/04/25 @ 19:45 (No UK TV)

Reckon Ando's going to be in one of his relaxed moods where he chuckles at a Murphy miss rather than getting worked out over it. Either that or we're doing a Spurs on them and being 5 nil up after 20 mins and he'll be manically chuckling to himself and every shot -
Financial Fair Play / Profit & Sustainability

Give it 2 years and Chelsea will have sold the same thing twice over. Either that or they'll find a way to sell the actual club to their owners and recognise the sale as pure PSR profit -

That's not a bad bet for a daft couple of quid. I can't see Eddie taking this approach but I'd be of a mind to let the emotion run the first 10-15 mins for this one. -
We're going to fall in love with it on the champions league nights

Financial Fair Play / Profit & Sustainability

Not really, there's the invitational nature of the cup and also it's not a UEFA or members association running it -

Could UEFA or the premier league disallow this income from their calculations? Not that they ever would bit technically is it possible? -
I thought we'd already targeted Quansah on the cup final 🫢

I can see Salah going to Barcelona after the season he's had, he'll feel like there's there another season on the legs. Imo Liverpool would be stupid to renew him, this is the peak and paying more on wages now is just dumb.

Whilst I can see us being 10 clear of Chelsea before we play them (look at their fixtures there are banana skins aplenty for the way they are playing) there is no way we are 10 clear of 6th place with 3 to play. We'll need 3 or 4 points from those games

Its a passing of the baton from SJP to the Town Moor, stadium announcement to follow next week citing the success and celebration in the Town Moor -
The trio just compliment each other so well and cover any slight weaknesses one may have. Definitely a sum greater than its parts - and the parts are pretty damn good on their own anyway

Get five and that's room for a £25m player. We'd lose the amortisation and wages so can replace them for no impact. The need to make a profit on sales is slightly overplayed, it's not making a loss that's important for refreshing the squad. Profits allow for more expensive players to be bought so it comes down to (originally) cheaper players - try to make a profit, (originally) more expensive players don't make a loss. A tad simplified but that's the minimum strategy for sales

[LCF] Newcastle United 2-1 Liverpool - NUFC LEAGUE CUP WINNERS

I'm guessing Howey? He's done a few before. Skipped to the goals on the highlights and they seemed to break the mic -
Roger Thames?

Said it before, it's not just the fee. 20% signing on fee and £400k a week (of you're breaking records on fees you've got to pay the wages). That's £50m cash on the first year after whatever transfer fee installment there is and a £50m hit to PSR every year for one player. Then you've already got a rebuild at Liverpool and Arsenal being linked with midfielders which takes any English club out. Barcelona will sign Salah, Madrid don't need him this summer and Isak doesn't seem the type to play in the French league. Next summer is the first dangerous one if he doesn't get a new deal. But i see a massive Isak number 9 campaign from Adidas in the summer for the new shirt which will pay a big chunk of the deal he will sign

Including West Ham (as it was the game after the tough 3 we had) then we should be capable of 18 from the 21 on offer by full time vs Ipswich. Depends if get caught celebrating or have the bit between our teeth. The international break is probably a good thing right now to maintain focus

Pardew knows that we are his ticket to a career as a pundit, that 5th place is what he can sell his name on. So of course he's going to be complimentary about us - however I do think that as he looks back on his career he also sees it as the highlight so any negativity will be pushed to back of his mind
