Would of won it at a canter if Careca wasn’t injured or Reinaldo had be selected (mixed views wether he was injured when Santana picked his squad). Felt a bit sorry for Serginho as is style wasn’t a good fit and the drop off from the other two was huge. Would have Zico a lot higher than 14th in that magazine poll posted on here the other day. I think whoever has the most “professional” players wins this. A lot of players on both sides going to the WC2022 so will be interesting to see their individual levels the last game before such a big tournament.

That midfield and CH selection are very uninspiring. Worryingly the inform players in the squad don’t seem to of been tried out in any of the games leading up to this.

Said this a few times. It’s a bit of an unquantifiable thing but always thought Howe would be a better fit than Emery at our club. That’s no slight at Emery who I like also. I’ll try though with one thing. I can honestly say after a year of games his post match comments reflect the game I’ve watched. The balance in his comments towards us and the opposition and the key moments and swings in the game along with what he’s seen as the good as well as not so good parts of our performance. Even in the tough moments at the start of his reign or the gut punch which was the Liverpool game this season. Ultimately his ability to communicate to and connect everyone including the fans which is were I think Emery would’ve struggled. He could’ve possibly won us over with results but there’s something bigger being built here aside from results which those who experienced KK first time around will see signs of again.

Yes he comes across in interviews better than he does on the pitch. Still can’t see him in a high fast pressing team still. We might do the deal if figures make sense and player himself pushing for it with the right attitude. Not sure we’d get into a transfer battle with anyone or pay over the odds with so little left on his contract.

I think Miggy slightly gets a slow touch on the ball and almost runs ahead of it then feins to shoot and in that split second AMN realises he’d be taking out man not ball so he hesitates then realises he needs to block possible shot and gets caught in two minds and leaves Miggy in the clear. Dare say you could argue it’s a great dummy but AMN probably did make Miggy’s mind up for him.
