  1. I mean he won them a European trophy and saw them qualify for Europe for a few seasons too, which in my lifetime is a fair over achievement for them.
  2. I’d hope being at home would mean the officials were less likely to allow those kind of tackles to stand tbf
  3. Actually think Palace get a fair few tourists due to Ted Lasso, as bizarre as it sounds
  4. I'd understand that logic if they had and recent history of young players realising their potential at that club. Rooney and Ronaldo was a LONG time ago now man, there is no patience for players to learn on the job there in the last 10 years, they need players who can not only hit the ground running, but can deal with the weight of the shirt. FFS we've seen players wilt when pulling on our shirt when things weren’t going well and I’d argue the pressure at Newcastle is nowhere near that at Man Utd, even if in reality it’s probably been closer than Froggy would like to admit these past 3 years.
  5. Who had totally flopped the year before at Chelsea, I don’t know why anyone thought signing him was a good idea. Even when he was apparently good he was pretty much anonymous every time I watched Chelsea play
  6. It’s not exactly difficult to see the point Kaka is trying to make here, unless you’re trying to be deliberately obtuse. Yoro, like Hojlund was bought for a fee which should and could’ve bought an established first team player, not someone they hope might be that in a few years. It was double the fee we paid for Botman, who was more proven in the same league.
  7. Much like Duran the other week you can never 100% accurately judge intent, but Kulu definitely braces before the contact with Gordon in at least one replay angle I’ve seen. Even if it’s not intentional, it’s given as a free kick in any other area of the pitch
  8. It wasn’t just the Gordon challenge though, I think it was about two or three minutes before the Botman booking, Bruno was on a break and Porro (if I remember correctly) stepped across him and clearly obstructed and fouled Bruno, only for him to be allowed to carry on. Which made what happened with Maddison slightly later all the more infuriating, as Botman didn’t move and Maddison initiates the contact.
  9. Said exactly than on Bluesky and as much as I generally enjoy Ally on co-comms he and his fellow ex-pros are the worst for not knowing the rules. It infuriates me given that they’re paid to comment on the game, ffs spend a bit of time doing some research, it’s literally what you’re paid to do. Do you think you would get away with not knowing the shit pertaining to your job as frequently as these clowns do?
  10. Just seen this on Facebook and my estimations of the little lisping weirdo have increased massively
  11. @Mods change this twats display name to Drill Bit please, for lack of self awareness if nothing else 🤦🏻‍♂️
  12. Has anything like that happened under the current ownership? I don't know if you realised but Ashley left 3 years ago God some of our fanbase really could do with therapy
  13. You've made a bit of a tit of yourself here 😂
  14. Howe expected him to be back from illness in his post match Villa interview
  15. Yeah Old Trafford is to Newcastle United, as St James' Park is to Aston Villa
  16. And another two a few days later 🤣
  17. And where's the chart for when VAR look at something and just ignore it? The Liverpool game alone had multiple instances of that happening FFS
  18. Surely you’d just fuck off the football entirely and lean into the Northern Soul angle, or at least follow Rugby League. Turning to the "Wearyside" though is just unintelligible 🤷🏻‍♂️
  19. Right there may be an element of lowering expectations going on during that interview, however let’s all remember that Eddie said he knew nothing about Harvey Barnes signing him, when he was literally a matter of feet away
  20. Will people look at past examples and think maybe Howe knows what he's doing. The exact same rubbish was said about Hall being an Ashworth signing last year
  21. FFS these Sky Commentators, the one covering the West Sham v Brighton game it’s Kudus not Kudos you illiterate bint 🤦🏻
  22. Wish someone had told Dalgliesh that when he was here
  23. Now do a table for wage bill and see who is significantly ahead of us. Looking at transfer spend without additional context is trying to be disingenuous IMHO
  24. Not sure how much sense is spoken here, but interesting take if nothing else
  25. As someone who lives in Scotland I say fuck that! I don’t think people realise the issues that both the Glasgow and Edinburgh teams cause from a policing standpoint. English football has worked hard to get away from the 70’s and 80’s shit. I see someone else talking about "fan culture", I’m sorry sectarian hatred isn’t football culture. Leave the dickheads arguing about which church they don’t attend on a Sunday where they are
