James
I'd give Ketsbaia or Martinez the stint to the end of the season: "Here's your chance to show what you can do in the PL" They'd bite whoever's hand off.
NE5
Are we still absolutely sure that mr. "Lualua on for Geremi on the 91st minute" is the best manager we could possibly get? There is absolutely no chance of us changing the manager now. There's no point even discussing it. no chance of any manager doing much better either unless at least 2 good players walk through the door

I agree, although,as it seems the manager seems not to have any input into transfer policy.....if it's gonna happen anywhere,it will be Newcastle. Shearer9
I think if we slid into 20th over the next 2 or 3 games Ashley might consider changing the manager. We are going down though with Kinnear in charge, I now have no doubt about it.

Ketsbaia maybe, but there is no way Martinez would leave Swansea unless its a permanent deal and even then I think he would stay at the Swans until the summer - longer if they manage to sneak up

James
Look at it this way: If we change managers now there is a chance he can turn it around, just like KK got better performances out of this bunch of gifted but ultimately spineless players. If we go down, the manager can't really be blamed, and might be good enough to bring us back up. If Kinnear stays, we are going down and not coming back again. Guest Wally_McFool
Kinnear will always have a place in my heart, for coming to us when nobody wanted us - like a not so attractive lady who takes you home after you've rolled out of a club at 3am covered in beer and sick. BUT I would not marry that lady. I would leave very quickly as soon as I could. And I wouldn't leave a number. Are you Ian Holloway?

In any case, why must it be either/or, why can't it be both? We need signings AND a manager that isn't a complete idiot to stay up this year.
midds
You can't just sack your manager every time you go on a shitty run of games ffs. Why not just sack our manager every Friday afternoon and win the following game?
samag
Changing the manager will not make any difference. Who is going to take the job? The simple fact is the players we have are not good enough.

Why not just sack our manager every Friday afternoon and win the following game? It's not as if Kinnear was a class manager with a decent record and we're just turning on him because of recent poor form. FFS. He was never good enough. Appointing hiim was a mistake from the start. Let's just get around to rectifying that before we're dead and buried.

NE5
Hoping for a new manager honeymoon period is pretty much our last chance now. It's a gamble we have to take. even Keegan coming back wouldn't get enough from the likes of Ameobi, Xisco and Carrol up front. The only "gamble" he has to take is what he should have done in the summer, or earlier.

Why not just sack our manager every Friday afternoon and win the following game? Are you having a laugh, man? Do you think Joe Kinnear is good enough? You can blame it on the lack of depth aswell... but then - the reason why people aren't coming here because they won't commit themselves to this cretin of a manager. Dave
Who is going to come here at this stage of the season? No ability to do anything in the transfer market, question marks still above the owner and the system, a team that will be even more bewildered, and not sure they'll be kept on next season if we go down. We couldn't even get Shearer. As I said, there's no point even discussing it.
