Was gonna run across and shake his hand but he whizzed off before the lights could change to cross the road. 11 years is a long time at one club, it really is a bit of a shame to see him leave via the back door. He's not been shat on by Rafa, but by the bean counters who wanted some beans instead of letting him on a free. That worked out well, didn't it... He's not been shat on by Rafa, but by the bean counters who wanted some beans instead of letting him on a free. That worked out well, didn't it... So if it wasn't a surprise that Rafa didn't want him, why did he agree to the extension? It benefitted both parties in theory (he got an extra year on a couple of million quid for another year, we potentially could have received a fee).
