Too conservative in his decisions and allows his opponent too much space. Coloccini 6 - Struggled with their movement but kept battling. Williamson 6 - As for Colo Enrique 7 - Did well going forward in the first half. Barton 6 - Good first half, disappeared in the second. Tiote 7 - Not at his best, but a tireless warrior as usual. Guthrie 6 - Struggled but kept battling. Jose 8 - Created real problems for them in the first half and worked very hard. Shola 7 - Got involved in an important role, despite some misplaced passes. Lovenkrands 6 - Worked hard, played his best but his best isn't good enough. Ireland 6 - Some nice touches despite coming on in a difficult situation. Ranger 6 - Struggled to get involved but tried. Put a decent defensive s*** in like but we had nothing on the right 2nd half. I'm sure the people who are saying he was 'MOM' are basing that upon the balls he played in the first. Good all around performance for me, I'll take a point from any of the 'top four' any day of the week! It's just a shame we didn't make the most of our chances in the first half. Simpson 7 - Solid all game. Williamson 8 - Him and Coloccini dealt with Rooney and Hernandez brilliantly all game. Coloccini 8 - See above. Enrique 9 - Nani, Valencia all comers dealt with. Must keep him Barton 6.5 - Fantastic first half, went missing a bit in the second. Tiote 8 - Bossed the midfield. Guthrie 7 - Really impressed with him, kept the ball well, shows what having a quality midfielder like Tiote next to you can do. Jonas 8 - Gave us so much go forward and caused O'Shea problems all day. Ameobi 5.5 - Decent shift if bereft of quality. Lovenkrands 5.5 - Should have buried that header, but got himself in dangerous positions and has looked better in recent weeks. Subs: Ranger 5 - Struggled to cause problems for their centre backs. I couldn't believe how much pressure we put them under early on. Thought everyone played great tonight, lovely watching Toite again! missed him so much. We really are missing two decent strikers, if we had them then we would be doing far better this season. Thought Ireland looked good, had some neat first time passes and touches.
