Can some bugger pop down and do a scout of the Trent, Rosies etc and see if this delegation is out on a mid afternoon break?

Just to gauge their body language an that.

Eventually found them in the 3 Bulls mate. The one with the beret on was sipping a nice Merlot and looked pretty happy, but the two drinking lager said they thought the English, brewed under licence, Kronenbourg was shite.

They looked like they were settling in for a session and one of them said that they like Newcastle so much they may just hang around and buy the club if Ashley wants to sell.

Get the fuck out all of you! If Cabaye leaves us, he must leave the country too.

Aye. Couldn't fucking stand to see him at Man United. Could stomach it so much more if we got a fair whack and a replacement and he pissed off to PSG.

Never that straight forward though, is it?

Watching Pards presser on NUFCV and he does make it clear this has fuck all to do with him and he has no say on keeping him.

Asked if he is confident he has enough in house to cope if Cabaye leaves "NO we need to bring somebody in" but get the feeling he doesn't think we will not this window.

Selling your best player before the derby - huge levels of /o\ Ashley must be getting a major hard-on as we speak, with all of that money coming that he will no doubt end up trousering. Will be amazed if a replacement is sourced and if it's like for like.

We're signing no one.

We will end up keeping Cabaye, the club will make out that the failed transfer activity of him to PSG caused all the problems for nufc in trying to bring in new additional players.

Cabaye stays, it will be like a new signing.  Until we flog him in the summer.

Do you genuinely believe that the transfer fee will be reinvested in the club - the same way as the Carroll cash was? :D

Yeah, as in probably not this window but long term (which is shit anyway, but I fear that's what will happen).  Anything less would be even more stingy then Ashley has run us in the past.  Have a look at transfers in and out since Carroll went and you'll see the outs even up with the ins.

Basically as long as the club breaks even outside of transfers Ashley seems to run us as a break even on transfers as well, or that's how its been in the past.

Would people be happy if we lost Cabaye, but gained Cabella AND Grenier? Just asking...

Do people really believe we could get Grenier ?  :yao:

We should play this like Liverpool did with Torres and Carroll and directly factor the cost of a replacement into the pricing of Cabaye. Don't want to take £20 million only to find that Montpellier now want £18 million for Cabella for example.
