Think he'll be cracking on the right. Imo Gutierrez needs a left footer playing alongside him for himself and the wing back to be affective. As it is, both are looking to cut inside, leaving a big space on our left where a team with a good winger will exploit.

This. Think this is why the jonas/jose partnership worked so well. If jonas got blocked from cutting inside he had the left footed jose to whip it in w/o cutting in

Impressive going forward, and looks a confident player with a good touch. Can't remember him having to defend at all though (barring one occassion when he pressed Routledge into a mistake in their half) so it's a bit early to judge.

We have went from Raylor being helped out by Jonas to Santon looking pretty comfortable and doing Jonas' work for large parts. Very good today and has to stay in the side

One of the positives from today's game. Looked good going forward and looked good on the ball (misplaced a few in the first half but got better in the second half). Promising.

 

Pardew has to see the light now like. Santon > Raylor.
