Have we got an apology / news of them chatting to the twats from Saturday yet?

Tin hat time but I recon the linesman knew the handball was inside, saw the ref call it outside, but, after suffering the abuse he inevitably got from our fans behind him, he thought fuck them I’m not correcting it.

Just seen a discussion on sky regarding the bad decisions at Villa park, basically saying there were 4 big errors. Offside goal, handball in the box, Murphy tackle but surprisingly they said that Tonalis equaliser should have been disallowed as Burn was offside?! Literally first I'd heard about that one not seen it mentioned anywhere

They’d have been drawing the VAR horizontal and vertical lines on the Burn off-side call. Marginal if at all and not a big error, it’s actually an example of what some want VAR to stay away from to keep the game flowing. Personally, I’m in favour of semi-automated calls but offside is looked at from the point of the body that contacts the ball or interferes.

See Kavanagh and the blind lino have been stood down from Premier League games this weekend.

I think Kavagnagh is within his rights to be fuming at his linesman, they let him down every time, granted he should have spotted at least the trippier one and even then it could be argued he is look at pushing and fouling in the box and relying on his assistants to help.

They gave him no help at all

He can't blame anyone else for the Digne handball tbh, he was stood right there, and Digne was still both feet in the penalty area after he'd blown his whistle.

As has been pointed out he actually marked the grass where Tripps was 😂😂

I'd hate to see him heading off across a park to where he thinks his dog's had a shit

They aren't linesmen anymore, they're assistant referees, there's no reason in the world for him not speaking up.

What we don't know is the personalities of the 4 officials, maybe he was scared of the ref to say something, which would be against the whole point of his job, and undermine the whole process.

He’s an elite referee though…..

Nope, but he and Greenhalgh have been stood down this weekend, which is as good as an admission they've had a mare. I guess we've probably had an apology if that's the case.

The lino next to the Digne challenge on Murphy has the Forest v Liverpool game. He didn't get owt wrong I suppose - he could have told Kavanagh it was a red but ultimately it would have been Kavanagh's decision anyway.

got the yellow out far too quick for Digne on Murph.

should have spoken to the lino first and i think the holes on murph's shins would have shown him how high it was.

The Champions League handball rule is awful.

It is, at least from a defending pov (makes trying to block a shot ridiculously difficult), but we can’t really blame refs for enforcing the rules that are in place. And by CL definitions, that was a handball tonight.

Was it Tonali in the second half where the ball bounced up into his arm?

Never a penalty but at the same time was surprised it wasn't given. So presumably there's a line somewhere but obviously position well different than we're used to.

Yep bounced up from under him onto his hand by his side.

I think with uefa, it's literally as simple as, if the hand is next to your body = no penalty, if your hand is away from your body = penalty. The circumstances are otherwise completely ignored.

Once I seen the handball I was pretty sure it would be given especially when you take Miley's into account against PSG. There is no much the lad can do but it is well away from his body.

Potentially could see that given in the PL although it may well come down to what the ref went with onfield?
