You can add 2 assists and a goal to that tally He's hardly ever played the full 90 minutes too. If he gets a full season in the first team he must be able to hit about 15 goals and 10 assists based on what he's shown in very limited time this season. Phenomenal. Not knowing what goes on behind the scenes day in, day out, I'll stick with the latter. To seriously believe the line that Pardew just didn't rate him, had an agenda not to play him, or didn't know how big a player he could be for us is absolutely laughable. Tiresias Posted March 25, 2012 Share Posted March 25, 2012 Pardew likes hard workers over skillful players more than I'd like, but to take this to the extreme and say Pardew was desperately slamming the door for ages...seems a little OTT. It was exasperating when Obertan was starting, but he wasn't playing his best earlier and needed to be eased into the team set up. He also needed to be fitted around a team that was scoring plenty earlier in the season and wouldn't want to mess that up, it was perhaps in our dips then that he panicked a bit and avoided the issue.
