He's been targeted as a weak link by a few opposing sides recently and his positioning was woeful last night. He's too small, it's a simple as that, forget about his other attributes or failings. He's shown that he can't cut in the PL as a midfielder and you can't have him at full back when high diagonals are all it takes to take him out of the game. It was embarrassing last night.
