Is this the first time in NUFC history that we've had 4 good defenders at the club? Its definitely the first since I started supporting the club in 2001.

Williamson I'd label competent to a point rather than good

Think he is referring to our starting back four?

I'm not sold on Santon's defensive abilities just yet. Has a lot of development left in him IMO, particularly in respect of his starting positions. Debuchy, I haven't seen enough of, and same for M'Biwa probably. I'm a gloomy misery guts lately though. Could be though

We all thought Cisse and Ba would be the next Cole and Yorke when Papiss signed but didn't work out. No guarantees Colo and Mapou will complement eachother either but we can hope. Only weakness i can see would be the lack of height for set pieces but then i remember how Williamson was often weak as piss against smaller players anyway.

The difference is that both Mapou and Colo are good all-rounded footballers, while Ba and Papiss are very "specialised" in a sense. Mapou isn't huge but going by youtube, his positioning and timing for defensive headers is amazing.

Didn't SWF beat Terry in the air a season or two ago?

Williamson still has nightmares about Victor Moses.
