Cajun
Me too, one of those defenders who didn't need to tackle, just took the ball off the opponent (if that makes sense).
LiquidAK
Me too, one of those defenders who didn't need to tackle, just took the ball off the opponent (if that makes sense). Think it was on The Football Ramble that I heard that Nesta made on average 1 tackle a game, or something like that, due to being so good at reading the game that he could just intercept and rarely had to actually go in and tackle the ball. Wasn't that Maldini? Quite possibly, my memory's not the best.
Disco
Always thought at their respective peaks Carvalho was better. Yet to see a player better at committing fouls on the sly and getting away with it in terms of being caught or the level of punishment received. The College Dropout
Carvalho was a great defender no doubt. But so was John Terry man. Just as Terry needed a quicker, more intelligent player alongside him. Carvalho needed someone with brute strength and real leadership skills such as Terry & Costa. Ginola
Other than that pass from the free kick in the first half he was really solid again tonight
Dave
One misplaced pass, which was so bad I can only put it down to drugs. Other than that he was class.

Mole_Toonfan
The biggest compliment i can pay him is that Colo's injury has hardly been felt at all.
James
Loved it when diarra was running through the middle with pace, Mapou waited and waited then just jumped in shielded the ball and passed it out. Something I've never seen from one of our defenders before but utter class.
toon25
The biggest compliment i can pay him is that Colo's injury has hardly been felt at all. Absolutely right. Imagine if we had old Moke strutting his stuff out there last night instead.
Ted Maul
That pass what was he thinking? As everyone says apart from that he was brilliant, and I like the partnership between him and Taylor. Never ever looks flustered at the back and always looks to win the ball cleanly staying on his feet. Reminds me of prime Ledley King in that regard. aussiemag
There was another time where he gave the ball away , when there was a clear pass on his blind side. They then were in on goal. It was clearly down to miscommunication at the back. Once he learns the language a bit better, He's going to be fucking brilliant, actually he already is fucking brilliant. AlanSkÃrare
With him and Taylor playing like this, we stop teams from winning headers in the box and they struggle to get in behind us because of Mapou's pace. The way he handled Eto'o last night was perfect.

The way he handled Eto'o last night was perfect. Watched the last 5 mins of the match when I got home as the missus recorded it for me, was great to see Eto'o look so frustrated and thoroughly p*ssed off when the ref didn't let them kick off at the end
