Guest neesy111
Why do we have 2 CB's on the bench btw? Williamson shouldn't be in the squad. We've had none for most of the season.
Mick
Re northerngimp about perch freeing up the midfield......quite possibly Santon and debuchy also.
Flip
Why is Williamson even on the bench. That alone pisses me off. Flog him off ffs. Terrible footballer. And can't believe we signed Anita for £8m and yet Pardew puts Perch ahead of him...
Wullie
Team looks fine to me, explained a few times why I understood if Taylor got the nod and it sounds like Marveaux would have started so it would make sense to have a bit more of a conservative midfielder (Perch) amongst those who should be playing further forward. If Marveaux was injured in the warm up it was probably too late to completely change the way we had set up to go out. When he had to change Ba in the "last minute" after preparing for that for a week, his excuse to play Shola was that we had prepared to play a certain way all week. Why does that not apply now and we bring in the closest thing to Marveaux (i.e not fucking Jonas or Perch) that he's been injured in the last minute? He's full of shit man. Deuce
At least everyone's worst nightmare didn't come true, Shola didn't start. Willo starting was my nightmare. Shola starting might possibly have been justified, in a horribly retarded and irrational kind of way.
Big Geordie
Jonas clearly picked for his supposed 'work eithic' as he's offered nowt else for this season. Pleased to see Sissoko and Gouffran getting starts - but no Anita?
Mole_Toonfan
So is Gouffran playing wide right of a front 3? bit harsh on his debut to stick him out there. Still, canny do any worse in that role that Shola did against Reading. Why is it harsh? he's played there for all but 2 seasons of his career
duo
AVFC: Guzan; Bennett, Vlaar, Baker, Clark; Lowton, Westwood, Bannan, N’Zogbia; Benteke, Bent. Subs: Given, Ireland, Lichaj, Holman, Agbonlahor, Weimann, Bowery. NUFC: Krul; Debuchy, S.Taylor, Coloccini, Santon; Perch, Cabaye; Gouffran, Sissoko, Gutierrez; Cisse. Subs: Harper, Yanga-Mbiwa, Williamson, Bigirimana, Anita, Sa.Ameobi, Sh.Ameobi. I think I'm being kind bolding Bannan and Charlie (although he always scares me when playing against us). No excuses tonight. N’Zogbia; Benteke, Bent. vs Taylor..... Villa have a lot of pace in their front line.

We don't have anyone available who is close to Marveaux though. I can understand frustrations at Perch although I don't think he is anywhere near as bad as most seem to. David28
Cabaye the sole creative spark. Marveux will be a big miss. Gouffran? Sissoko? Even Jonas can create something on his day at times.
Pata
Reaction to the line-up is a disgrace. Who do we put there in Jonas' place? Perch will be fine and with Anita we have at least someone to change the game from the bench if we're not doing well. Also I find it unlikely that Taylor plays 90 minutes. Ketsbaia
Oh look, Williamson didn't start. No Simpson, no Williamson - four magical words I thought I'd never say!
Segun Oluwaniyi
Nothing wrong with this team at all. I wasn't expecting Mbiwa to start right away, and Perch has done a good job playing in midfield on numerous occasions for this team in the past two seasons and does provide legitimate physicality, which can be important in matches away from home. Jonas is disappointing, but with Marveaux injured the only real options are Obertan and Shola whom people would also moan about. The position will be a bit of an annoyance until Ben Arfa returns. I think we should win this, and I am hopeful going into the match,
binnsy
With all the focus on the french players after our signing spree it'll be just our luck for N'Zogbia to steel the show and tear us apart!!
ScottishMagpie
If it's 4-1-3-2 then I can understand the team he's picked. What I won't understand is if he takes off Cabs of Sissoko and brings on Bigirimana and tries to defend a 1-0 lead!
