Why do we have 2 CB's on the bench btw?

Williamson shouldn't be in the squad.

We've had none for most of the season.

Team looks fine to me, explained a few times why I understood if Taylor got the nod and it sounds like Marveaux would have started so it would make sense to have a bit more of a conservative midfielder (Perch) amongst those who should be playing further forward.

If Marveaux was injured in the warm up it was probably too late to completely change the way we had set up to go out.

When he had to change Ba in the "last minute" after preparing for that for a week, his excuse to play Shola was that we had prepared to play a certain way all week.

Why does that not apply now and we bring in the closest thing to Marveaux (i.e not fucking Jonas or Perch) that he's been injured in the last minute?

He's full of shit man.

At least everyone's worst nightmare didn't come true, Shola didn't start.

Willo starting was my nightmare. Shola starting might possibly have been justified, in a horribly retarded and irrational kind of way.

AVFC: Guzan; Bennett, Vlaar, Baker, Clark; Lowton, Westwood, Bannan, N’Zogbia; Benteke, Bent.

Subs: Given, Ireland, Lichaj, Holman, Agbonlahor, Weimann, Bowery.

NUFC: Krul; Debuchy, S.Taylor, Coloccini, Santon; Perch, Cabaye; Gouffran, Sissoko, Gutierrez; Cisse.

Subs: Harper, Yanga-Mbiwa, Williamson, Bigirimana, Anita, Sa.Ameobi, Sh.Ameobi.

I think I'm being kind bolding Bannan and Charlie (although he always scares me when playing against us). No excuses tonight.

N’Zogbia; Benteke, Bent. vs Taylor..... :scared: Villa have a lot of pace in their front line.

Perch was always gonna play, it's Jonas who's been brought in cos Marv has got a knock but was due to play.

We don't have anyone available who is close to Marveaux though. I can understand frustrations at Perch although I don't think he is anywhere near as bad as most seem to.

If Taylor gets a bold, Vlaar definitely should. Lose Bannan though.

If he can't pick a team from these players without Perch then he needs sacking.

Reaction to the line-up is a disgrace.

Who do we put there in Jonas' place? Perch will be fine and with Anita we have at least someone to change the game from the bench if we're not doing well. Also I find it unlikely that Taylor plays 90 minutes.

Nothing wrong with this team at all. I wasn't expecting Mbiwa to start right away, and Perch has done a good job playing in midfield on numerous occasions for this team in the past two seasons and does provide legitimate physicality, which can be important in matches away from home. Jonas is disappointing, but with Marveaux injured the only real options are Obertan and Shola whom people would also moan about. The position will be a bit of an annoyance until Ben Arfa returns.

I think we should win this, and I am hopeful going into the match,
