Guest firetotheworks
I didn't like, I said he'd be horrible and I stick with that He's a dour man and so is his football. And so he'll get kicked out of town and we'll get someone else. The spell is broken, we can be 'deluded' in the right way again. Kicked out of town in the same way AP was? It's like having a fucking annoying cat that's suddenly hit by a bus. You don't go and buy another one of the same breed. Get a dog or something FFS. It's been explained like, but the difference between Carver and McClaren compared to Pardew is that Carver doesn't and McClaren wouldn't have the strange level of support that Pardew would because they have no PR bullshit to fallback upon, nor a 5th place finish. It wouldn't be accepted and we'd have to change again. The entire point in Pardew having gone is that a spell has been broken, we're no longer in hellish purgatory. Whether we get better or worse from here on in there'll be change for the better eventually imo because we'll either do better/play better, or do the same/worse and it won't be swallowed in the way that it was with Pardew. Do you see where I'm coming from?

Newintoon
The Sun claims Claude Puel is a dark horse for the job, he has a fan and ally in Graham Carr but Puel is in contract till next year so he would cost Ashley. Meh, At least he likes Hatem

ilikenewcastle
Hate to be negative (I love it really), but the job is Carver's to lose. The best I can see us doing is some random French/German guy (who a load fans will probably think is great despite their greatest achievement being finishing 11th in the Bundesliga)

Do you see where I'm coming from? I totally see where you're coming from but don't agree. The level of support doesn't matter because they'll have endless support from the board just from finishing above 17th. If we're stuck with one of them, I'd far rather it was someone more interesting that either of those two bellends tbqh.

Any old cheap manager is going to seem like an upgrade compared to Carver, that's probably why he is staying on for the season...

Deuce
de Boer making noises about staying at Ajax next season Thought this was an interesting series of tweets yesterday: Raymond Verheijen @raymondverheije · Feb 1 Yet another shocking performance by Ajax today losing 1-0 against Vitesse. Low tempo, many mistakes. Fatigue!! Gap with PSV is 9 points now. Raymond Verheijen @raymondverheije · Feb 1 To prepare for the 2nd half of the season Ajax trained 12 days in a row. Often twice a day. Which idiot in Amsterdam did make this decision? Raymond Verheijen @raymondverheije · Feb 1 Ajax coach Frank de Boer destroyed his team by overtraining them in Qatar and developing structural fatigue in the body of his players. Raymond Verheijen @raymondverheije · 1d 1 day ago Ajax coach De Boer has now confirmed training has probably been too hard in Qatar. But the damage has been done. No way back. Title gone Raymond Verheijen @raymondverheije · 23h 23 hours ago After training 12 consecutive days it's impossible Ajax has a fitness problem. They have a freshness problem due to accumulation of fatigue. Verheijen can be a bit of a radgie at times, but conditioning is his thing.

Jack Flash
Hughton was expected to hold meetings with Ashley and Llambias just before games, and respect their footballing input. Former boss Kevin Keegan routinely ignored such interference so close to a match but Hughton, in a bid to keep the peace, always made himself available. There is no suggestion he took any notice of the feedback he was given, but Ashley and Llambias regard themselves as knowledgeable football fans, whose opinion is valid on even small tactical matters.
