Amorim actually said he'd prefer to come in the summer, and they insisted he join now.

Someone is going to pay big time for pushing for him to come in mid season I think.

Ashworth didn't even want him, was he right

The very fact he said that means he shouldn't have been given the job though. And he shouldn't have taken it. So bottle jobs on both sides.

Yeah, it's crazy they responded to that by strong arming him into joining now, and he actually let them!

Such a weird situation. I think the guy is talented, but his setup is clearly not an approach or system that is easy to implement under the current circumstances.

And then they sacked the bloke that said no to him after waiting 6 months and paying £3million cash

What if you don't have the players to play your 'idea'!? The lack of pragmatism from these types of managers is incredible.

He'll have to adapt, learn and tailor the system to suit the personnel or he's doomed to fail.

See Postecoglu at Tottenham. Another dead man walking.

Could be that they simply don't have the best players anymore?

Where's the Cantona,

Where's the Keane or Scholes

Where's the Ferdinand and Vidic

Where's the Van Persie or Van Nistelrooy

Where's the Beckham and Giggs.

That's before even considering the likes of Rooney, Never, Ronaldo.

It's been a long while coming but they have been left behind

He can keep the same idea without necessarily keeping it that formation.

Of course yeah, the running of the club is more at fault than the current manager. It's been a decline over many years.

The also had the ability to turn average players into high quality players by being part of a system and a club ethos

Think of how many of their solid squad options left Man Utd in the Taggart era and were absolutely dogshit at their next clubs

Now they specialise in turning expensive players into dogshit before they leave
