I don't think that was a myth tbf. Possibly exaggerated. Ben Arfa didn't bother his arse at Hull; doesn't mean the manager isn't at least partly responsible for not getting a tune out of a player. I mean imagine putting him in the current team that sits deep all game and can't string together 3 passes when we do get it back. It would break the guy's spirit and he will not be out there charging about aimlessly all game trying to cover gaps and win the ball back, only to then hoof it back to the other team. We have already now started to see the effect it is having on ASM and Miggy, who both look increasingly fed up with it all, as they never get to express themselves nearly enough in forward areas.
