Pilko
Haven't seen any of the other matches before today but from what I've read it seems like we're in desperate need of this bloke being shit-hot from day one. We're gonna need his leadership qualities. Bet that side today wouldn't be doing so badly if all/some of Williamson, Tiote and De Jong were in there. They're the leaders, Coloccini just happens to have an armband on.
Memphis
Judging by the shambles in his absence, very much the new Cabaye.
andydunc
Anyone know when this guys going to be back?

sempuki
Was injured for most of last season - hope he recovers quickly.
loki679
Aye, they always recover quick with us. Our other nickname is Lourdes of the North.

Heightens the need for getting Grenier tbh. Really missing creativity through the middle.
nufcjb
Hope we don't rush him for the City game and risk him aggravating the injury and missing more games.
afar
So wtf is happening with this guy, it's been weeks now, think in Pardew's first choice team, which was basically today's starting 11 with Tiote for Anita and De Jong for Gouff. He's kinda vital.

nemtizz
Hardly a reliable source but FF have him out until the 23rd. Hopefully it's no longer.
Teasy
Hardly a reliable source but FF have him out until the 23rd. Do they not just mean he'll be back on the 23rd for our next match? EDIT: Nice editing there mate
nemtizz
Yes, well done.
Mole_Toonfan
Probably because Pardew said in the pre man City presser that he'd play against villa.
Kanj
Naw no way is this guy not needed in a team that can't hold on to the ball or offer any set piece threat or any leadership on the team. Had the ball been at his feet at top of box versus Sissoko? Hmmm

AyeDubbleYoo
Most excited to see this lad play, and the affect he has on other players too.
LFEE
So... Out of the starting 11 from Sunday who do we think AP will drop for this lad?

Mole_Toonfan
If it was up to me I'd drop Colback, put Sissoko alongside Anita and De Jong were Sissoko was on Sunday. Pardew will probably drop Gouffran though. Anita will go out the side when Tiote comes back don't think he'll come out until then.
Fenham Mag
I would prefer Gouffran out for De Jong. Keep Anita in, I like my little technical players.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
Gouffran has to be the one making way, he was utterly ineffective just as he was for the full second half of last season. Should only play in a central striker role. Should not play anywhere across the midfield or wide forward positions.
Revolution Number 9
Rather see Gouffran lose his spot as well, but it raises the problem of where to play him. De Jong plays centrally doesn't he? Might end up with Sissoko on the wing again

Might end up with Sissoko on the wing again I have no problem with keeping Sissoko out wide to accommodate the other central players aslong as we are willing to switch him to the middle like seemed to be done against City. Wouldn't want to drop Colback or Anita after the City performances.
