Kanji
Just a note, our stadium was like this 30 years ago: http://www.premierfootballbooks.co.uk/images/crystalpalace_aerial2.jpg Enjoy Alan, at least you'll get free tickets. Absolutely no offence, but your stadium wasn't even that good 30 years ago. You must have got some people who knew their s*** in charge in that period to get what you have now. We didn't "must" we actually DID and thank fuck for the big visions of those men, and then finally SJH and Fat Freddy for expanding it to what it is today. I still wonder what could have been had we built the new San Siro style stadium with SJH in charge and Keegan as manager still. (or am I getting my dates wrong?) Robster
Hopefully rules out all the old school shite british coaches. Sadly, they should all be very much ruled in when it's Ashley making the decision.

Taylor Swift
We're going to transition to a club that does transfers whether a manager is there or not, like Real, Barca, Man Utd etc, do. And that's the best way. Now we have to find a manager that fits our players, rather than find 11 different players to fit a new manager. It's the better philosophy in the long run and I actually trust our transfer guys. It was just the fuckwit in charge that couldn't use them well. I'm still annoyed about MYM. AyeDubbleYoo
I agree with managers not being in charge of all the transfers, it doesn't make sense to change the direction of the club and the playing staff all the time. The only snag is that our club doesn't have a philosophy or a direction.
Kanji
Just was having a look at my DVR - We hate Pardew and want him gone. - We started off with a fucking terrible run of form. - We hate Pardew and want him gone. - Cisse saved Pardew's skin - We still hate Pardew and wnt him gone. - We went on a classic run of wins: Including City in the Cup, Liverpool and Spurs - We still hate Pardew. - We went on a classic run of shit form, but somehow beat Chelsea. - We crash out the FA Cup, lose to Sunderland again - We still hate Pardew. - Pardew walks, and Ashley is getting compensation for it. Jesus christ.

Nah I think your dates are fine mate but I think it spilled over to the Fat Freddy period. The vision was great by SJH and I used to draw how the new San Siro would look like but it couldn't go through hence we got what we have today. Andymc1
We might as well get someone who will fit into the management structure. If that means getting a head coach that has worked in similar circumstances then it can only be a positive. It's much better than appointing someone to do the job of a manager and then slowly reducing their responsibilities to the point where we have another Keegan situation. You are quite right on both counts Brummie - both ends of SJP were completely uncovered and so were the corners ; the East Stand - now the oldest part of the stadium - was the 'new' stand and the Milburn had yet to be built...the old board sold Beardsley to Liverpool in 1987 to pay for it. When Sir John Hall took over the club, he used his experience of development and especially the MetroCentre construction, to rebuild SJP, firstly into a 47,000 capacity and eventually into the 52,000 seater that it now is ; had he had his way and the idiot Prescott not stopped it, he would have built a new stadium on Leazes Park with 75,000 capacity and a sliding roof. People moan about SJH, but he did as he said and gave us a stadium to be proud of instead of a crumbling wreck.

mrmojorisin75
Hopefully Ashley has noted the goings on at Southampton and Swansea and is going to stick strictly with the idea that there's a system in place and it won't charge regardless of 'manager'. Clearly we need better coaches at the club though but in terms of recruitment we're in decent shape. If he makes a good decision this time he could literally forget about the club until he decides to sell it. This group of players could do good things together, albeit we really need to replace mym, get shot of Williamson and replace him as a bare minimum asap. Suspect Dummet will 'replace' Willo along with the lad from forest in the summer like.
