TRon
That second goal was the first time I've seen him show real composure in front of goal with the ball at his feet. Highly encouraging.
Tiresias
Ritchie bust a gut to get Mitro his 3rd before Ritchie was subbed. At least that's how I saw it. They'll be absolutely laughing their tits off together. Before Mitro accidently snaps his neck like a twig I imagine Mitro going around, congratulating his team-mates, being like a scene from Final Destination
KaKa
Really happy for him. Has had to bide his time, and I think ultimately it will only do him good. He's clearly chomping at the bit to get goals and prove himself and that is never a bad thing. Think Rafa has handled the whole thing brilliantly with the mix of Gayle, Diame, Perez and Mitrovic. They are all fit, hungry, and now firing in goals.
joeyt
The penalty incident aside he was very good tonight.
ElDiablo
I said it in the match thread but he looked a bit leaner out there which meant he was a little bit more mobile. Obviously he's never going to be quick but a little bit more agility being added to his game can only be a good thing. Definitely, noticed that too. Rafa seems to have whipped him and Shelvey in particular into shape which is great to see. I really hope he starts on Saturday.
Altamullan
On a night like tonight, having played so little football, only one sensible thing to a add: "Ye knaa, knaa, knaa, nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah-nah. Nah-nah-nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah, nah-nah...Mitro's on fire..."
KaKa
Just seen the highlights. Looks so much more mobile! Random. His second is a lovely lovely goal. Nice to see he has that kind of composure in his locker. Great.
Sho Time
"On the pitch spat"? He's a striker who wants to score goals so of course he wants to take the penalty - he's in a rich vein of goalscoring form in all his recent starts for club and country so he's confident and whether he challenges Ritchie or not is of little or no consequence at all. I've said before certain people just have it in for him and posts like that just prove it. "Ship him out and replace him with someone useful"... he's scored 3 goals in 3 starts this season (5 in his last 8 iirc) and has also started as the lone striker in both of our 6-0 wins this season! Honestly man, get a f***ing grip - he was fantastic all round today and very unlucky not to get his hat-trick. Also can't believe he's getting stick for celebrating and going mad when the team scores, sorry Balotelli.
Menace
Want him to succeed, I think he's got serious potential.
M1tche
Definitely in a lot better shape and looks a yard sharper for it. Had a decent burst of pace a couple of times tonight. Also seemed to have a lot more composure on the ball for the most part, thought he was excellent tonight.
Ikon
I'm not sure why but i've been desperate for him to succeed for whatever reason. Always had belief in him and that he will come good. Hopefully he can do it. Just Love the crazy bastard
SUPERTOON
2 starts, 3 goals and as a team 12 goals. Some people still think he isn't good enough?
Newcastle Fan
That was the definition of a dominating striker's performance, toyed with their defenders.

Foluwashola
Delighted for him. Some will probably dislike his strop over the pen, but love owt like that me. Strikers should want to take pens.

UncleBingo
Made a tit of himself with the penalty but better, so much better. Even I was willing him to get a hattrick tonight, he definitely deserved one.
54
Made a tit of himself with the penalty but better, so much better. Even I was willing him to get a hattrick tonight, he definitely deserved one. Why would any Newcastle fan not be willing on one of our players to get a hatrick? Tiresias
He's clearly the kind of striker that when in the mood is unplayable, he is going to get his head or his body to the ball before any defender and he is strong enough to shrug anyone off. He's also got the technical skills. It's only that too often he has not shown up like that or been unable to hit a barn door. I do love his enthusiasm, but part of me thinks that this is part and parcel with his immaturity which is why his form seems to fly around wildly. Rafa will get him to consistency like he has with Shelvey I hope. I have never understood anyone who didn't think he has the ability to be a great striker, but I have been in the past frustrated with him to the point of questioning if he'll make it, albeit everyone looked bad last season. I'd also still probably start Gayle, but he needs to keep banging them in himself because Mitrovic certainly brings more overall to the table. Mattoon
Can't blame the lad for so desperately wanting to take the penalty, he's been left out a lot this season and he's desperate to prove himself, he's full of passion and clearly has a lot of love for us. He's just not had the skill to live up to that passion but now seems to be turning a corner, I think he'll come good. Fantastic centre forward display today, harassed, bullied and terrorised their back 4 all game, I had to rub my eyes when I saw him running at defenders. Whatever Rafa is doing with him is working, starting to repay some of the faith our supporters have had in him and I hope for everyone's sake it continues. Got a lot of time for Mitro, how can you not love the guy?
Warnesy88
How anyone can complain about Mitro after that performance is beyond me. He was beastly from start to finish.
