Anyone have any idea what that was all about? Just saw one bloke going mental screaming 'I'm gonna fuckin kill him' then spitting directly at whoever he was screaming at. In an afternoon of very little entertainment, that was slightly entertaining.

They had half Rangers/half West Brom shirts on.

One of the stewards kept the gates locked til full time to stop the early leavers. f***ing hell on

Fight in the south stand 3/4 minutes after final whistle, some cracking shadow boxing

Massive roll about in the north stand too. Arguing about Moyes and it is/isn't his fault.

In previous seasons they've survived on the back of pulling shock wins out of the hat against the likes of Chelsea and Man City.  Can't see this team doing that.

I can. They've always got that in them, but it's less likely with a low spirit. See how that point yesterday changes their outlook next game.

Every year it's the year they go down and every year they scrape a winning run together in March that saves them, abelit will hurt not getting 6 points from us. if they do go down don't think they'll make it up in a long time, there's definitely something rotten at the heart of the Club and they need a total reform of everything

To get one point from such promising home games (Boro, Everton, Palace, West Brom) is embarrassing but, then again, Sunderland don't specialise in easy points or August/September points. Their squad is shocking though, absolutely shocking.

First timer , old timer , and definitely not a mackem , I went to my first match at St.James's for 20 years , my last one vs. Metz , my latest vs. Wolves . So I don't regard myself a supporter any more , merely a fan . Revisiting the stadium just served to reinforce the reasons I stopped going . I fell out of love with the match day experience when the whole thing became so sanitised and unspontanious . I fell out of love with the game .

By pure chance my work necessitated my being at the Stadium of Light , match vs. Palace , the very next week. And this is the crux of my post .I found the lacklustre atmosphere at St. James's so inferior to the passion displayed by the mackems on the day . Their fans did display spontaneous and widespread vocal support for their team , something sadly lacking the week before at St. James's . Now admittedly it was just a one game comparison , but the contrast was alarming . And perhaps in part due to the ,shall I say , more basic and less cranially evolved species inhabiting the  Wearside stadium . Nevertheless , my recent Sunderland experience was ,unfortunately , much more akin to the match day experience of old .
