BeloEmre
Whilst we can surely afford £1.5m loan fee, the £150k/week wages might be a little more of a problem. £4.2m for a player who easily could be the difference between going down or staying up. Kasper
But yeah. If we had been in for him he would have turned us down.
Parky
Imagine the pressure this imaginary player would be under to be shit hot, after everything we've been through with Ashley. That's the hidden level in the Ashley playbook - signing imaginary players.
Happinesstan
Knowing our luck we'll sign a quality striker who likes nothing more than playing on the big stage. He'll walk out to the roaring passion of 50,000 geordies. His first pass will be so sublime as to take everyone's breath away, leaving St. James in momentary silence which freaks him out and he's never the same player again. TRon
I’ve always quite liked the look of Slimani. Got in some great areas and had some tidy finishes early on for Leicester. Looks a bit heavy, mind. Would prefer someone a bit more pacey and mobile. Is his style hugely different to Mitrovic? Beggars can’t be choosers and I doubt we even get anyone in. So if it is true. I hope we pay what they’re asking. I think we’re going down without a 2 more decent additions this window. He surprised me how quick he was in one goal he scored this season, think it was when Leicester played at home to Huddersfield? Ran onto to a ball played in behind, didn't look slow at all. He's easily the striker who excites me the most out of the ones mentioned, if only because he looks the most capable of playing as a lone striker. Don't know about his touch being off, but he's mobile, powerful and decent in the air. Can't see it happening though, Ashley's not going to sanction £20m+ on a striker approaching 30. Super Duper Branko Strupar
Slimani is far from slow and immobile, like. It's more his decision making that is in doubt.

Ketsbaia
Oh boy, I now feel bad for laughing at Brighton's Locadia deal.
Waddles mullet
#nufc are still in discussions for Nicolai Jorgensen of Feyenoord but the funds have been approved by the owner. Big couple of days ahead for the board now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guest chopey
My fag packet maths tells me if everyone we've been linked with comes and those linked with a move leave then we actually make a profit ?
Altamullan
This is Futbol, suggests we are after Slimani (£30m) as well as Jorgensen... with Mitro to go (maybe Gayle also?).

Why even bother writing that? I mean ignoring the financial aspect it's ridiculous from a football perspective as well.
Altamullan
I found it funny and hopeful (now slightly embarrassed to admit) in equal measure. Thought I’d share the joy..
Bimpy474
Do any of the papers/media ever look as what we've become when it comes to buying players ? I mean the amount of figures thrown around involving us buying players would take 1% of effort to disprove ffs
bodson
About 20 million gives us a striker like Jorgensen. Not sure he will be better than Joselu, Perez, Gayle and Mitro. We should be more creative than that high risk dane for our club record signing. Go for Balotelli (only 6 months left on his contract) and Ben Arfa instead! Dave
This time next week, Lascelles will be sold for £50m. Just wait. Loads of our fans would be buzzing at that.
