DeAndre Yedlin (now playing for Inter Miami)

Something like this doesn't happen to any other club in the entire football league. It's basic admin. Surely a renewal is fairly simple when they are still an existing player. This reeks of someone forgetting. Not surprising when majority of staff are furloughed.

Just read the work permit stuff.  Yeesh, what a fucking shambles.

Is this completely the clubs fault, or has the player failed to do something?

Don't think he's been too bad for us in his time here, bit like Simpson. Always been bigger issues with the team than his position. Think he could do a job at a higher level, depending on the setup of the team.

Change thing comment to Yedlin:

Really hope he does go before he ends up having had more bad performances than good ones for us.

If he'd left/been upgraded on in summer 2018 he'd literally have gone down as one of our best ever buys, tbh. Absolutely integral to promotion and consolidation, and useful in Rafa's last season too (though it was achingly clear at that point that we needed to replace him). Machine-like in his productivity in the Championship and that goal against ManU was an especially brilliant moment, the Man City penalty too. The equalising volley down at Bournemouth was pretty special too.

Get yourself shot, Matt, and actually enjoy the last three or so years of your career. Don't wither away at this shitheap, you've earned yourself a good move. He should go with massive respect from the fanbase for his contribution in the Rafa years.

Add Willems to that and that would be a big improvement on 1st team

Liam Kennedy said last night that his injury problems make him too much of a risk. To be honest, when I watched him play I always thought he looked knackered. Despite having quite good close control, he had the stoop and waddle of Geremi. Not worth signing the bloke if he's knees are shot.

Indeed. Always been a steady performer for us and has deserved so much more than the utter shite treatment he's been served by the current mob. Cast aside until they were desperate then fucked about with this ridiculous visa thing. It's just no way to go about managing your squad, especially consummate professionals who've never let us down.

It's a pity he never really built on his potential though. Always looked very capable but you seldom saw moments of serious quality.

Never been a fan. Pace for days, never uses it to much attacking effect and has shocking positioning which even his rapid pace can't make up for. Has had the odd good game but largely he's been poor. Probably don't dislike him as much as I did Danny Simpson anyway.

The Watford 0-3 home game under Rafa sticks out as one of the worst individual defensive performances in a long long time.

(In before someone mentions Haidara/Debuchy 0-6 Liverpool too)

This is probably spot on about Yedlin.  The goals we conceded when the ball was nonchalantly floated over his head to an unmarked winger were numerous.  Sometimes his pace saved him but more than not it ended up a goal.
