I think it’s Brentford looking at Man Utd’s previous splurges and rightfully saying we want our piece of that pie. They’ll look at it and say “well you’ve spent much more money on worse players than Bryan in the past, so cough up”. I think the market decides on a player’s value, not how much Man U wasted in the past. Fair play to Brentford for holding out for whatever they think is right, obviously.
