Oh ffs, on, off, on again. It's a fucking Genesis tune this lark  :banghead:

make a reference us millennials can understand, grandpa!

 not sure but i think this is a compliment.

Why the fuck should he? This forum isn't the exclusive preserve of millennials...

Wants to run us right, knows it takes more than just investing in the playing squad and the club as whole has been underinvested in and not run properly. If the era of Man City type owners are over, then she’s the best we or any club could hope for.

I've got an awful feeling that as soon as we edge closer to PL safety (because I think we'll stay up) Ashley will just up the price to something ridiculous like £400m because he'll have seen the new TV deal.

I've got to have hope though. I'll be miserable otherwise. What she's said is just what we want; whilst a Man City-esque takeover would be amazing, just being an efficient, growing football club that's allowed to maximise it's potential and revenue/turnover is all we want.

Can she not give the fat f***er £350m and spend £100m rather than £200m on players, the training ground etc. He's not going to budge at £250m.

Was my thinking. No way the cunt will budge from his valuation.

It'll be very interesting to see what she has to say. It absolutely doesn't mean the takeover is back on though. I'm resigned to Ashley being here for the foreseeable future tbh. Nobody will offer near the money he wants, so he'll just keep it.

I see it more of both sides burning their bridges. Ashley waded in first, and Staveley now sticking the knife back in by revealing what her dreams and plans would have been.

Yep. It's over.

Hopefully she scorched earth's the fucker, got a feeling he's picked the wrong person to try and bullshit.

The first few pages of this thread make for fun reading. The hope we had...

To be fair, these two are decent:

Before we get carried away here...

Mike Ashley has bought our club to make money; he isn't going to be run the club at a loss… ala the Russian at  Chelsea.

This is a sports marketing/merchandising deal.... SportsWorld and Shirt Sales will be just as much part of the Ashley plan as what happens on the park.

Whether he will invest in year one is open to question, how much will he invest? Is he prepared to invest more than Shepherd?

Those people that think we are going to splash out millions, I believe will be very disappointed.

Good news is obviously that Freddie can no longer change his duds without getting sign off, and hopefully we'll see the end of his idiot sons.

IMHO - This deal poses far more questions than it answers...

The way this bloke runs businesses is not a nice way at all and he'll certainly not have the fans at heart. He'll be after the merchindise and the sponsership cash and is definatly the type of guy who will sell as much of the club as possible and won't care about the team. Christ even Sunderland told him to piss off when he tried for them before Quinn took over (before relegation as well)

However satisfying it is for her to stick the knife into Ashley, it must mean any chance of a deal is over. So overall s*** news.

I've taken it as she still wants the club. Whilst the club isn't worth more than £250m she needs to up it. Will she do it? I'm leaning towards no but I've taken this as a shred of hope rather than a final collapse of the burning bridges into the river.
