Stifler
Apparently League One owners are discussing the possibility of ending the season. If this happens then it’s a disaster for them as it means they will have another season in League One. If the season is declared null and void then they will likely have to payback sponsors and TV money. If it is declared as is, or by basis of PPG, then again they are fucked. Going on a PPG ration would actually see them drop down to 8th.

They don’t have to pay players who will potentially be out of contract anymore wages. They don’t have to pay stadium staff that is needed to play games. Apparently it’s only those who have an outside chance of getting promotion or need to play to ensure they don’t go down who want to carry on playing. Most clubs with nothing to play for are happy to end the season now.

Bolton and Southend might as well cut their losses Coventry and Rotherham will take the promotion vote Burton in 12th and those below will be happy to chill out 13 v 10 Be hilarious if it's 12 all and Burton get the casting vote. Yeah. The biggest question will be if the EFL still go ahead with promotions and relegations. If the Premier League conclude their season, which I think they will, then it will put pressure on them because at the very least you will have Leeds and WBA promoted. If they go ahead with promotion and use PPG (probably the fairest way to do it when not all teams have played games), then Wycombe who are 1 place below Sunderland in the 8th, will move up to 3rd place and will presumably be promoted instead of having play offs. Interestingly if the Championship also used PPG to finish their season, Luton would survive with Hull going down.

Can't even pick a favourite. What’s even funnier is they went up the other end after Burton went 2-1 up and scored a perfectly good goal, which if allowed, would have given them at least a stay of execution....wonderful irony

bigfella
The best bit was a lot of people - I'm including media and fans - didn't immediately realise they'd been relegated at full time. I was at a big family do that night and the first person I bumped into at the bar was my cousin David, a Newcastle fan, so we had a beer and a good laugh at the makems misfortunes. His son, however, is a red and whiter and was late turning up to the meal because he'd been at the Burton match. We sat down and some time later David shouted to me "tell numb-nuts here that the makems have been relegated!" His son, a man in his thirties, had blissfully spent the last three hours or so thinking they had avoided the drop and no amount of explaining would change his mind -"nar nar, we're not down, you're just trying to wind us up". Later on he looked at his phone said "bugger" and he and his lass flounced out - I've never seen him since.
