Said it in the match thread but it makes such a difference having Wilson up top. Having that threat in behind means its much harder to double up on ASM, also gives him far more passing options. Excited to see what the future holds.

We managed to get him much higher up the pitch. Arsenal also couldn’t just stick 3 men on him because we had Wilson instead of Wood up front, so he managed to get 1v1 a bit and absolutely ruined Tomiyasu (who is a very, very good defender) in the process. More of that pls.

Great performance tonight, best he’s played for a long time. If he can appreciate why it was so good, and repeat it, he’s into a winner.

As people have said, Wilson being on is a massive help to him.

Definitely got this feeling tonight too - much in the same way his game improved immediately once Targett went behind him. Having Wilson in front of him will add that extra dimension. Love it.

Let's face it, ASM was Brewced, but in a different way.  Whereas other players were (non)coached and played very passively I can see where Brewce threw a meaty arm around ASM's shoulder and told him he was the key to the offense.  Constantly taking him aside, bigging him up, and telling him he was the star.

Howe comes on board and ASM has to not only change his game but he lost the ego boosting of Brewce.  Honestly, any player eval under Cabbagehead has to be tossed out.  The difference between running a sports car on cheap gas and the good stuff.

Didn't quite understand all the criticism he got in the match thread today. Even for Burnleys goal at least he tracked back well and tried to defend. Passed the ball around more than he did during his poorer spell. Got an assist. 7/7.5 out of 10 performance.

Some were already driving him to his next club in the match thread at HT

Awful assist. An English pass to the full back was on and this Pol Pot loving piece of human shit, with his greedy malevolent ways, was too busy trying to do something dangerous that could have resulted in our proper players losing the ball. Not to mention an honest proper professional team with no greed, like Burnley, scoring on the counter. Get rid.

He was looking to release the ball quicker yesterday so maybe he’s starting to realise it’s not all about him. However, when we’re under the cosh, like we usually are in the second half,he shows little interest in helping out in defence.Wood gets back to help out,as does Almiron and Wilson.I’d still look to get rid this summer though.Good teams don’t ‘carry’ players.

He just doesn't look happy. Seems to spend the 90 minutes now, just moaning, waving his arms and looking really glum.

I don't want ASM spreading his bad vibes around the training ground. Do that at the end of season party, that'll be fun
