Well it’s usually me reminding others of that so not needed for me. I struggle though to see that it would be difficult to find someone better than Anderson in our price range or cheaper ideally.

I keep hearing this, but it's probably only wishful thinking from fans who believe his love for his club will override all other considerations. If he really does start tearing it up in the PL, then other big clubs will come in and start offering big wages. He's not going to sit on his Forest wages for four years just so he can come back here.

I agree we need to take care of the ball better (even if it is overstated), but there's no point in sacrificing Joe or Ramsey's output for the sake of a more possession based player. We're a team of limited goal scorers as it is.

 

Not s slight against the lad, he's come on a lot and will probably add goals and assists to his game, but he needs to keep playing regularly.

Anderson can do 80% of what both Bruno & Joe can do imo. His physicality is excellent, not prime Joe but he's a monster. And he's much better on the ball than big Joe. He can play the deepest role, has quick feet and a dribble away from pressure, passes it forward, tenacious in the tackle. He's turned into a very good player. HG for us which is massive. He gets it man and he can play. BHH.

 

I never judge CMs by G/A. Toni Kroos was at Real for a decade and got more than 12 G/A in a La Liga season twice. While being on some corners and freekicks the entire time. Modric never managed 13 G/A in league season in his entire time in the PL or LL. He was also on set-pieces (assisted the Ramos 93rd minute CL goal).

He'll be one of the lowest paid in the England squad. Almost certainly the lowest paid outfield player.

Not sure that's true either. Big Joe usually has good feet when he's in tight spaces, I think Elliott has thrived more in situations where there is less pressure on the ball at Forest and England.

Aye he’s not running down this deal. Good chance he’s sold this summer or next if he doesn’t renew his contract. not because of the length of time but it would be clear he prioritises leaving over anything else. 
 

A bumper new wage with a release clause (that is respected by both parties) is probably the best for all.

Real Madrid never really needed goals from midfield because they had the luxury of having Benzema and Ronny up top.

 

If we're playing with eights and a forward like Woltemade up top, they need to chip in.

Is he too far gone now to be anything as LW where he banged them in at the lower levels?

 

I watch him play and he's easy to watch, but needs to offer far more output.

What 8s in the division are as physical as ours and get 13 or more G/A? Reijnders MAYBE. 
 

Woltemade is a striker in our system.  13-17 goals is great for him considering he’s not on penalties. Plus assists. Gordon on penalties needs to do 15-20 G/A in the league. He should get 4-6 penalties.

I cant wait for "only wanted Newcastle" from our boy. @The College Dropout is spot on re: Anderson. He's a physical monster, press resistant, knows 100% the tactical plan and got away for 2+ seasons playing first team football to mature his footballing ability and skillset - he's a full England international and should be on the plane to USA for the World Cup. Yes he will cost a fortune but I would argue he could play the 6 role and push Tonali into an 8, play left sided 8, play in a double pivot and is probably a very good eventual succesor to JL/Bruno. Aggressive forward progressive passer and great ball carrying.

The point was, at the moment Anderson isn't "ready made" for us, but he could be in the future.

 

Liverpool and Real Madrid are an irrelevance because the make up of their team is entirely different.

 

At present, he's at best a sideways step from Joelinton.

 

It wasn't you, but it's even more bizarre to say he was ready for us two seasons ago when he couldn't get in the team. He needed and he still needs minutes for his development.

Imo Anderson is more consistent than Joelinton. Less injury prone aswell. Unfortunately the one big injury he got was in his last season with us, which was the perfect season for him to have a breakthrough.
