He's going to have better offers at that point.

Hopefully by then not mamy clubs will be able to make better offers, then its up to the player.

Best I've ever seen him play. Looked more like the player who first burst onto the scene when we were loaning him out to get experience. At Forest he's had the chance to play in his preferrred central position, and yesterday he seemed to be playing as the 8 conducting the attacking plays.

Serbia looked a bit soft compared to the PL, but still, it does look like we've been absolutely screwed by PSR here. Someone at the club should be kicking up a stink about this.

Well Howe did seem genuinely gutted to let him go. But given who we had/have in that position it was probably the right/least worst call.

Howe never wanted to let him go. I don't really blame the club either, we had no choice, as far as I'm concerned even Minteh looks like he is going to be worth more than the £35m fee we got for him, although at least that wasn't as much of a steal for Brighton.

But the point is, we had no need to sell them, it was only to satisfy the PSR conditions which impose fake budgets on ambitious clubs. It's scandalous really, that's why I think we should be making more noise. Maybe coordinate with Villa and Forest who have been equally screwed by the cartel.

He’d come back if he was valued like we did Bruno, I don’t know how anyone would suggest otherwise. Lad was in the home end at Wembley. I can’t imagine he doesn’t want to come back and do it big for us assuming we pay the going rate in wages.

If he continues his trajectory he’s going to cost £70m minimum next season.  He’s going to have to engineer his own way back via a release clause imo and that will be set high anyway.

I think Minteh will have a breakout season this year or next.

I never saw him as a 6 either, but he actually has a great skill set for it. I've long thought players not quite good enough to be truly great at 10 or similar can be great at 6 or 8, with that bit more time on the ball. Pirlo, Scholes, Kroos for example all started pro careers at 10.

prior to last night I though 6 in a double pivot where he has some license to get forward, sure. But he looked like he could easily play as a single pivot against Serbia too. Just an all round great profile and has everything.

The time to get him back would’ve been the summer just gone where we could possibly have offered Willock as a makeweight in addition to £50m-£60m or something. He will be a £100m midfielder after the world cup assuming Ange doesn’t completely ruin Forest.

Not sure why we are having the revisionism. He’s not going to gain any pace over the coming years. Was noticeable how he struggled to get back behind the ball when he was caught out. We will need much better than him in 2-3yrs times unless things have went drastically wrong.

Still wanting him to do well but I’ve not seen any difference in him. Give him time on the ball and he’s a nice player with some good footwork and balance.

he was England’s best player in the under 21 Euros and is now starring for the first team. It’s ok to have been wrong about a player!

He'd have been an excellent rotation option for Joelinton or cover for Bruno. We lack threat and link up centrally as Joelinton is lacking technically, especially in attacking aspects. Anderson would have been a good option instead of Joe in a few matches last year. You'd imagine in our midfield he'd have the least defensive responsibility, given his strength is more in link up and making space. Bruno and Tonali holding, when they go forward he  holds back.

I guess I didn’t think he was any great shakes in the 21 Euros considering the opposition and was steady away for the seniors. Fair enough if you think you are wrong about him though.

Probably played what will be the assist of the season with a first time ball absolutely nobody other than Wood saw coming.
