TRon Posted November 11, 2020 Share Posted November 11, 2020 I wonder if the timeline reference for a takeover is in relation to the overall strategic review Masters has indicated would take place in March 2021. There is no way these Big 6 proposals did not have any influence on the Premier League decision making - would love for an exclusive story to break indicating there had been pressure exerted on the PL regarding the takeover or we wait for this to come out in the subject access request through the courts. This breakaway idea does leave me a bit queasy tbh, it's feasible that the PL might feel they can fob off the takeover in the hope that the Big Pcture project starts to look like a reality. Whether there is a new deal is still to be confirmed but as it stands interest has been withdrawn and the only action ongoing involves compensation claims due to the deal collapsing for alleged legal breaches. PIF only made a public statement, and (at the time) I certainly understood why!! Sheer 'exasperation'. PIF have never said they have withdrawn from the Consortium (the consortium would have told us about that if it had happened) neither have they (or anyone else) officially informed the Premier League that the bid has been withdrawn. it is all still moving along, as it always should have been, quietly. Like most people, I fear - after a long period of quiet - that it is 'off' and I constantly want to hear news (even 'informed leaks') but in reality it is far, far, far better without leaks. I haven't kept up to date with what's going on there, but it seems to me like there are still people, including Masters, who seem to think it's an ongoing discussion.
