Isn’t even that tbh.

Tbf he had 3 great crosses in the first half. Defensively not good enough but he can certainly whip a ball in like.

Pilko used the word "mong". Disappointing that Thomson Mouse and Neesy liked the mong comment. Didn't expect that.

I requoted the fella who said mongs originally  if you're going to grass on people, do it well

Yep. He can strike a good ball, just like Shelvey can ping a nice pass. Just the rest of their games and their general lack of mobility which goes a long way to destroying our ability to impose our game.

Fair comment.

Agreed, to be honest. I'll personally not put a penny into the club under Ashley (even when Rafa was here) but some of the abuse towards fans who go definitely crosses the line at times.

There's parents who want to take their kids to the games, want that experience of them falling in love with the club and the games. People like my grandad who barely get out of the house other than to go to the games and see their mates who they've been going with for forever. He probably doesn't even know half the squad anymore but still enjoys the experience of a matchday.

It maybe shortsighted or misguided but there's still fans who want to get some enjoyment out of it all. Even if it's just watching on TV and celebrating a win or a goal. It gets a bit tiring the same folk coming into every matchday thread celebrating every loss, wanting us to get relegated and then blaming it all on the fans. I'd support them if they were using that same time and energy trying to do something about it.

Sat at home watching on your sky sports subscription glued to the forum slagging off fans going to the game for having no life doesn't really make you as superior as people seem to think.

I liked it but this is the best post I’ve seen in ages on here so have to requote

Aye I thought that aswell not really sure what his ‘thing’ is

Gareth Southgate is his godfather and will not select your da for England if you act like a bellend towards Freddie.

Was at the game, I know I know. Total Ashley shill in doing so.

Great start with the charver spackers in front of me booing the knee. You have to wonder what was said (or wasn't) at half time from donner buttfuck because the second half was woeful.

That organisation at the back non-existent, this is the exact sort of thing we had when Rafa was around and is why we finished today with nothing. I also think we really missed Darlow/Dubs today - I am sure its too soon to say anything about Woodman and he is potentially promising for the future based on his loan performances but I can't help but feel one of Dubs or Darlow would have saved that second or fourth goal.

2nd half was embarrassing defensively. 3 times now Bruce has conceded 4+ goals at SJP, not even Pardew has done that many times. Defensively we look a fucking mess and while we looked useful in attack particularly in the first half, West Ham's midfield was/is lightyears ahead of ours. Willock will improve that but fuck me.

Also, playing two wingers at wing back and a right back at centre half when two centre halves are on the bench is laughable. Subs were shite as well.

Bruce needs to beat either Villa next week or Southampton after that or this is gonna turn.

booing the knee

Heard that watching it on my TV, feed provided by bskyb's Sky Sports package, while I was acting like a superior fan on the internet.

I do have to say the patter about match going fans is fucking tedious at this stage. It's poisonous, boring and pretty pointless tbh. Newcastle fans will always go to the match regardless unless results and division status turns. History proves this. The Ashley era, very early 90s, the 80s, 70s, its always the same.

Booing the knee mind is absolutely embarrassing. All fanbases will have incredibly shortsighted morons on this topic or on vaccines or whatever and will boo. I did hear applause during it though it is still absolutely embarrassing and not representative of the city of Newcastle for me.

Not wanting to come across as high and mighty, lads, but there's been a couple of rather unsavoury insults used in here today. I kinda get it, as insults they hit fucking hard at the person you're looking to offend, but it's canny not on when you consider the associated groups of people those insults were designed for. Dont mean to suggest match going fans shouldnt be griefed for extending this shitshow, but surely we can chose our words better.

If I'm gonna be honest lads, I'm glad fans are back. Football is alive again, regardless of what we think of NUFC, the PL, whatever. I may be a few pints deep ( ) but I'm glad. Like I posted a few posts above that sort of pattern is fucking boring. It's horribly toxic and like Yorkie puts it quite well, it's a waste of energy. This is the fanbase of Newcastle United and always has been it. We've been in lockdown for more or less 18 months and people are finally feeling freedom; some may think that's ordering at the bar in the pub, not needing to wear a mask, or going to watch their team.

That's what many believe when they go and tbh I kinda still feel the same way. I haven't been since May 2019 for Rafa's last game but fuck me I miss it. The energy of scoring, anger of conceding, the passion of singing for your team. The atmosphere sounded good today and tbph I'm sad I wasn't part of it. I love Newcastle United, simple as that and this to me still is Newcastle United. The owner is a parasitic cunt, the manager is a clueless bell end, a lot of the squad are shite but it's still my club and I want them to do well and win.

The lot who booed the lads taking the knee I hope keel owa mind.

I hope that the people using it don't know what "mongs" means.

It's usually a shortening of mongoloids, often used as an insulting term for people with Downs syndrome.

It is in no way acceptable to be used, and still less as an insult. Time for me to leave this place.

I went today. I've barely been for 6 years but I've moved back, my dad has refused to give up going, and he's not been well for a while. So I've made a choice to go back with him because it's a chance to spend quality time. I really don't have a lot of care for the team these days but today was worth it being with him and the pre-match buzz in town is still class.

Tbf, the atmosphere in the beginning was brilliant, but it was amazing how quickly that apathy returned at 3ish goals in. It was actually quite nice not being too frustrated about the result and still enjoying the day for what it is.

Best moment for me was when the divs started booing the knee but far more people started to cheer for it instead. I felt proud seeing people around me react that way - it actually restored some faith in humanity for me, as I was expecting to see what I read online all the time. A powerful reminder there are still many well-intentioned people out there.
