Today's result is not a surprise but it's fair to say we've been well and truly mullered and this performance is as bad as any from other managers we've had. Think he needs to get signings in and quickly. Won at Man United, while getting draws at Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea like.

It’s still a terrible performance though. We could’ve lost by 5 or 6 and could not complain.
Wandy
Looking very much like a bang-average manager right now. Lose the derby and he is in big trouble. The last few weeks have nibbled away at his banked credit. A loss to Sunderland will take a very big chunk from it.
Smal
I mean, it’s another away game where the opposition should’ve scored 5+ goals, like. I’m not sure what’s gone wrong the last 5 weeks but we’ve been well and truly awful defensively.

It's not a good record however you spin it. I'm fully behind him but I think he needs some new faces in quickly.
Amir_9
As far as I am concerned any talks of pressure on his job should be for next season (in my opinion) but realistically I totally understand if form hasn't turned around by February/March. This month is a write off. Edited January 1 by Amir_9
Whitley mag
I’ll be honest I don’t know what to think at this point, is this just a blip, or are we seeing him unravel like he did at Bournemouth in the end, hopefully the former.
Hanshithispantz
"Bang average manager" Honestly we deserve fucking nowt.
Turnbull2000
We're desperately bad. Fatigue and injuries don't cut it when we're appalling week after week.
Gallowgate Toon
We know he can coach an excellent defensive unit, there are evidently other factors at play. Again, the club needs to back him quickly and get some positive momentum around the place.
The Prophet
Goes to show behind the cool flag displays and the self appointed "best fans in the league" tag, our fans are absolutely laughable. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism, but calling for the head of the bloke who steered us from relegation and finished fourth just a year later is on point. At this "supporters" should be rallying around a manager and squad, not turning on them.

Some posters expect everything now and far too emotional. No wonder we get labelled deluded.
The College Dropout
I do believe fatigue is a major issue in our performances. But Howe is responsible for managing the players fatigue and players conditioning.
Zero
Come on the result is expected. No need to bump this thread. Are people seriously think we can beat the scousers when we are in such a bad form?
Aiston
Mental it took 82 minutes for Howe to realise Burn shouldn't be up against Salah.
TheInfiniteOdyssey
I’m pretty concerned like. We don’t look organised at all. We were a rabble tonight.

I hope he’s given at least another season, it does however feel like the next few weeks are pivotal for him moving forward. I know a few on here are saying otherwise, but that Sunderland game is absolutely massive on Saturday.
pubteam
It's the manner of these defeat that's of most concern. We look like a very poor football team.

We were well and truly beaten. Relegation fodder can muster up better performances.
