xLiaaamx
Ugghh, we really don't need Choudhury No idea who we do need, but looking around other clubs signings recently, players like Bissouma, Douglas Luiz, Barkley, Sansom, Doucoure all players that should be in within our ambitions that have gone to other clubs we weren't even linked too. State of investment in our midfield in recent years has been a disgrace. We've just given up buying talented players, that even for whatever reason don't work here, go elsewhere and show we were on right track signing them at least. Shelvey - signed in 2016 when we in desperation for anything. Thought it was a s*** signing then, everything he is being slammed for now was fair and obvious criticism of his game back then. Legitimately the belated and far inferior Cabaye replacement in the midfield then. Hayden - signed as a squad player for Championship season. Fair play to the lad for kicking on, but he's limited to say the least. Hendrick - free signing from Burnley Longstaffs - academy then we've had; Saivet - total mystery this signing, smells of something dodgy behind the scenes. Diame - free signing for Championship Bentaleb - ughhh, total dosser and waste of whatever loan fee paid for him Only midfielder that's been brought into the club with obvious talent and shown to be good enough was Merino. Stand by Wijnaldum being a good signing. Obvious he was a quality player and had talent, but Schteve couldn't motivate him to brush his teeth, yet still scored fair amount. Then you go way back to the likes of Sissoko, Cabaye, Tiote under Carr; even Cabella, Thauvin - all obviously talented and quality players. The total shade thrown at Ki to not even get a mention
Yorkie
I swear there was a story shortly after the transfer window when a bunch of, supposedly, the consortium's targets were revealed, and Choudury was on there. Wasn't Demarai Gray on the list as well? Can't recall.
Abra Dubravka
Never thought buying players deemed not up to scratch at teams we aspire to be/competing with is ever the answer. Added to always aspiring to build a squad top-bottom, continually add better players that push down current first teamers down. Leicester didn't kick on by buying players that couldn't get into Leicester's (whatever team Leicester at the time) side. They went and brought Tielemans. We should be in the market for Tielemans type players. Below the obvious elite, but with improvement/progression a player the elite end up purchasing. Not some dosser deemed no good by a top 10 team. Jeff Hendrick is never going to push on and become any better, or become a £30M+ player that likes of top 4 sniff around (i.e Cabaye). We're just wasting our time and money continually buying these twats like Hendrick, Shelvey We still live with the 'purple' mentality, and will never push on as a club until that attitude is banished. We've got Shelvey, paying him 80k, the purplest 'purple' of the squad. So we'll never go and buy another midfielder better than him, thus improving our side, and demoting him to rotation/squad. Scotty66
Saivet The Thierry Henry of football manager. If only he had a half of the potential that the fm researcher could see.
toontownman
Is Saivet still on the books? Contract runs until 2026 Almost as epic as his rebirth that leads Senegal to the World cup glory where he is hailed as the player of the year at the tender age of 35. He subsequently leaves us on a free to Fleetwood.
KaKa
The funny thing about Saivet is that he would actually do a better job than Shelvey and Hendrick, yet is relegated to mucking about in the reserves.
Abra Dubravka
Is he even playing for reserve sides? Never played under Bruce has he Must be monumentally bad, or Brucey is under instruction not to feature him for whatever reason.

Never to be seen since Yeah, that was Rafa though. December 17, over 3 years ago!! Never to be seen again after he whipped in that lovely free-kick. Signing makes no sense, wouldn't surprise me if it was some dodge agent deal, money laundering or human trafficking something Had his loan spell away in Turkey season we were in Championship, but can't fathom why we haven't been able to offload him at all - even if we'd end up paying something stupid like 70% his wages. Baffling. Fair play if he's turned down deals and wants his money, but club most have had chances to offload some money tied up in him. That or Henri just bloody loves the North East! Dr Jinx
Something really weird with that deal. Like many of the clubs recent signings... He certainly looks like a player who should be competing for a place here? Maybe he was a naughty boy and was doping or something. We signed him as a favour to some agent and agreed to hide him away for a few years?

Ketsbaia
Sounds like Maitland-Niles wants to go out on loan. We should be all over that.
xLiaaamx
He claims to really be a midfielder doesn't he? I'd hope we'd play him in the middle. A 4th right back no matter how good is not the priority.
Infinitely Content
Opinions seem quite split on him, but I really like Maitland-Niles. Think he's way better than he's been able to show for Arsenal. I can see him as a bit of a Jay Dasilva type (the lad that ran the show from midfield for Brentford against us). I think he's capable of that or better.
Disco
Suffers from not having a defined position yet but aye, I like him too. Always come across a bit more of a street footballer than the standard academy graduate.
