Transfer rumours

Apparently de Ligt is being offered to Chelsea as Juve want him off their wage bill.

Get ten Hag in for fortunes to lure him in.  He could be our captain for the next 10 years.

What, since when did we get a fax machine? Fucking hell, our new owners don’t mess about! From pigeons dying while delivering messages to fax machines…

One of Mikes schemes to prevent last minute transfer bids on deadline day- Charnley and Bruce weren’t clever enough between them to use it.

Man City's best signings during their early days were also not bought for top money. I will take a Kompany or Zabaleta here any day. Doesn't have to be big names or big money.

Wasn't kompany something crazy like 10m .. bit of luck in some signings is needed too

You think Charners isn’t allowed use of the fax machine these days?

He might have been if he knew how to work it. These modern fancy gizmos just don't suit a man with a football club to run.

6m, and he was a reliable player for them for ages.

Luck could pay a part but a big part is also on the correct scouting setup, to identify the de Bruynes, Lukakus and Salah that Chelsea signed.

Kompany was already well thought of but wasn't considered an 'elite' player. He was good, but became so much better at City.

I'd suggest if he wasn't playing for them when he was at his best for them he would have been a 40-50m player

This also goes to show that just scouting talents will only get you so far. Without a solid group for them to learn from, a well thought out development plan and a system that fits their style of play, you'll end up like Manchester United.
