Weve been linked with Diaby on a few occasions from a few different sources but which other clubs have also?

Haven't seen anything naming any other clubs with interest. That always seems odd when a player has done so well, usually there 3/4 chasing them.

PSG have been linked fairly regularly. They let him and Nkunku go a few years back.

There's been reports out of Germany from some good journo's that he wants CL football and isn't interested mind. There's only really Ben Jacobs saying that he is.

I'm sure we'll have already sounded out his camp, if we intend on making a bid.

I'm convinced either the RW, CF or CM will be a loan. Makes sense that we are waiting to see what business is done elsewhere and who may end up available that isn't currently.

Agree with @The Prophet - Diaby will be playing CL football next season, at Leverkusen or elsewhere.

Yeah, I agree. Think we'll wait for the market to develop a bit to see who becomes available and also if clubs come back willing to accept lesser fees for certain players etc.

The local journos will all get briefed the same. They'll only be give info the club wants them to know.

A period to take stock seems sensible.

Agree. Get a full medical report on Wilson, check up on Anderson. I would assume this also means the Ekitike deal is more than alive and kicking.

My guess is we've put a bid in for Diaby but Leverkusen want more. We're not inclined to increase the bid at this point, feeling content for the time being to see how the market pans out.

Apart from youth players, I think we'll make one or maybe two more significant signings but no more.

I think since Ashworth has come in, we’ve gotten way more coy when it comes to the psychology of the transfer side of the business.

We openly showed an interest, we’re told not for sale or quoted a ridiculous price.

The most recent brief is that we’re done for the moment and will assess the squad etc..

Que the story about Diaby coming out.. those clubs are getting worried we’d walk away because we actually would and they are realising now that the whole Newcastle tax thing is a myth.

What are people's thoughts on Conor Gallagher. While there was lots of odious cretin vibes, lots of people really wanted him here 6 months ago. Have our expectations already passed him by?

Looks like Villa might be his destination.

Early part of last season he looked great, but then towards end of season when they played us, Bruno had him in his pocket all game.. he was levels below him.

We want to keep that standard in who we bring in, so jury is out about Gallagher as far as I’m concerned.

Gallagher is a very good player. He may not be as technically gifted as Bruno (not many are tbf) but he’s a lot better physically and very well-rounded. In the right system he’d flourish; guy’s got all the tools to be a top player imo.

Gallagher could be our new Rob Lee. Not talking playing style necessarily, just pure ye olde Lon-don vibe. Lad could make himself a legend here.

Shelvey is from London. No guarantee of quality!

Sounds like an invitation to PSG and ourselves.

Bayer Leverkusen should have just dropped the timeless Pardism “We’re not a sovereign state” whilst furiously shopping Diaby to us
