I wouldn’t be put off by that otherwise there’ll be a very small pool of players to look at. If it wasn’t for the toe injury I bet there’d not have been a discussion.

Surely we would trust our medical departments to assess his injury record and predict future likelihood of injury.

My brain always goes to Eddie Howe and what a fantastic coach he is. I love the potential of him with bright young players.

DCL is one of those who needs a fresh start. Besides, if it doesn't work out, we could probably recoup 1/4 of what we buy him for.

Apart from the toe injury he’s not had any long layoffs?

According to this he’s missed the same number of games this season as Haaland. Wonder if anyone thinks that should put Man City off?

DCL has played 15 times and scored 3. Haaland has played 29 times and scored 28.

The biggest one being a similar sort of injury to Trippier. Best sign a new right-back too just in case. ;)

DCL is great. It’s only his ( and our) injury record I’m worried about

His injury record is nothing on note really. One freak toe fracture and Everton rushing him back too soon. I imagine he'd be fine if he moved up north.

DCL walking back into a mess of a team though. Shearer scored 2 in about 20 after a far more serious injury but came back absolutely fine in the end.

Man City have scored 94 league goals this season without Haaland, even if he comes in and flops, they will be just fine without him. We on the other hand don’t have such luxuries atm and need the striker signing to stay fit and score the goals.

He wouldn’t be my first choice, but I’d have DCL, he’s dynamic, great in the air, young and can play a variety of roles.

What do you mean by a variety of roles ? He’s and out and out striker from what I have seen.

Would be a fantastic signing.

Although wears some clothes that people say makes him a ‘poofta’, so not sure what to think.

I honestly don't know why folk get so riled up about the clothes that someone else is wearing. It says far more about them than it does the wearer of the clothes.

He has played wide right and left for Everton I’m sure, although I don’t know to what effect. I’d go all out for Abraham personally!

You don't see heels like those much these days.

Of course, and that was the point I was trying to make.

ASM plays well, ‘wear what you like son’

ASM plays poorly, ‘looking at him poncing about in his jewellery and Gucci’

I remember when I got roundly slagged off all my mate’s for wearing transparent underwear in Benidorm a few years back. Hate clothes nonces!

Not sure we can be sniffy over someone who has reliably banged in goals in the league before, but am concerned over injury record

I do get that, FWIW I still consider him a reliable goalscorer, just I would much rather have gone for the pacy type like Abraham or Nunez. That said, if we brought in Ekiteke as well, that would address the pace problem.

Given that FFP is mentioned a lot and we won’t be spending fortunes like some outlets predicted we might (I prefer it this way tbh) I don’t really want DCL despite quite liking him as a striker. The money it would cost to get him could surely be invested better?

Not too dissimilar to Shearer in the league in 97/98 after his bad injury when he came back into a poor side?

Hopefully. It's still a concern though.
