Yep.

Add in to that, look at the players Newcastle have brought in and their improvement. Look at Nunez's and Diaz's improvement ? Has Szoboszlai etc

At this point I'm not even sure if the Liverpool and Newcastle management are thinking the same way that Romano/Ornstein/Pletti think they're thinking. The whole "sell us Isak or we will buy Ekitike" narrative is emotive, but illogical from a business point of view, no? All it does is it certainly just drives Ekitike's price up for both parties, and if Newcastle says "Isak is not for sale" (and these "journalists" keep saying that we have), then what's the point of the threats? Liverpool should buy who 1) the manager wants; and 2) is available, just like any other club. Threatening a club owned by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund is not going to work well.

No, I don't think it is tbh. It's hard nosed business and I wouldn't expect anything less from an American billionaire owned club.

It's quite simple. Isak is world class and they know they have some funds to do a deal and they have a free run. For ekitike he's similar but not the same it's a very expensive risk where as Isak and his skillset are as close to a sure thing as possible.

Let's be clear here, PSR has provided clubs like Liverpool with so much protection they don't need to care about who we are owned by, what are we going to do?

As much as long term we do need a keeper and probably immediately a CB I think Eddie sees the need to drop some serious cash on genuine attacking upgrades that will make a difference in the final third as more important - and I'm in agreement with that tbh. We got one in Elanga - if we get a top forward too we're looking pretty frightening.

Will start to worry if it drags on and on towards the start of the season though. We do really need a strong window.

Think with the striker, it’s great if we can get one in now so they can work on tactical play during pre season that will be used in games, but end of day, Isak will start and play full 90 first couple of league games so it’s not essential to have one in by early August. If they arrive like Isak did himself late in August as a deal becomes available, that’s perfectly fine because season is only just starting.

There is not that much young promising strikers and it raises the price. Ekitike only had one great season, same is with Woltemade (Stuttgart).

I keep repeating myself but Sesko has much better stats. He is one year younger than Ekitike. It’s weird we are not linked with him but I hope we are working on multipe options and are ready to move quickly to next target.

I suppose we can still say "no". But the threat of buying the striker that we are currently pursuing is the odd one for me.

He's someone who's viewed as having a lot of potential in a market which lacks options. It's logical they'd be interested.

I've said it before but in this PSR world we are in everyone is targeting the exact same profile of player (except the weirdos in Munich) this is why we see everyone chasing the same players and paying mad fees and wages.

Getting cucked by 3 strikers this window is infuriating but I’m sure we’ll end up with someone good.

Think folks need to start getting used to this as part of going after top players.

Liverpool themselves got cucked by Caicedo, Lavia, Zubimendi, Bellingham and even their very very own Trent.

They could cheer us up with a Scalvini, even a little Trafford would do.

Maybe even a Dominic.... No too far.

The Trafford one has gone on that long, i won't even care if it happens [emoji38] (will be a good signing of course).

The only people who know what is going on are the negotiating teams, for our part if we thought the deal was dead we'd walk away as soon as that became apparent. To keep at it, we MUST be getting some positivity back.

Just me who isn't that keen on Sesko?

He’s a better out and out striker than Ekitike imo (lovely hit on him) but can’t see him working anywhere but the sole man up front. Completely different profile to Pedro and Hugo.
