Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Recommended Posts

He's going to choose Liverpool if it comes down to us or them, which is why I'd prefer we just force the issue by bidding the release clause or as close as we can stretch then see the reaction.

At least that way we can walk away asap if necessary.

I'm really relaxed about getting Ekitike or not. I'd like him but retaining Isak is the season-defining thing. As long as that happens the window is all good.

If we keep Isak with no more incomings the window is all good?

Is it fuck. He breaks down and we’re relying on Will Osula to shoot us to glory. Keep Isak, use the funds earmarked for Ekitike to take care of other positions. Buy a lower cost back up.

Yea we need striker in any case, or some sort of versatile forward player.

I’m clinging onto the hope that Trafford / CB deals are there ready to click go, but we’re not as we are seeing what cost striker signing will be (Pedro now Etikike). Once that’s concluded, hopefully if to no deal, we quickly wrap up the GK / CB, then know what targets we need to move onto for our remaining money for the striker option. Because a £20m-£30m striker option will be hugely different to the £60m+ ones.

If I was privileged enough to have the option to join 2 top level football teams, the first person I would tell about my preferences during secret negotiations would DEFINITELY be Jan Aage Fjortoft.

He definitely would ask whether he is a guaranteed starter here before making the decision.

He probably will play more minutes if he joins Liverpool? Against good sides we probably often need to play 3 in midfield. Liverpool dont even have a proper 9

yea, that’s why I am a little bit puzzled. Say if we splash 100m on Ekitike, got him, marvellous, and then? No way we would let him sit on the bench and so we are definitely going to change to 4-4-2.

Would that work? That’s really a big change to our system.

He wasn’t right even if Ekitike signs - he said he was having a medical

Don't think he did, he said he was ready to have one if we agreed a deal. But you could say that about nay player in the world tbf [emoji38]

It gives us options other than 4-3-3 or 4-4-2.  Could go with Ekitike as a 10 in a 4-2-3-1, go narrow in a 4-3-2-1, a few 5 at the back systems with Hall and Livramento providing the width.  Plenty we could do with a versatile forward at our disposal.

Tbh we really have no idea what is going on. Frankfurt may delay the deal and hope for more money.

Hopefully we move on with CB and GK meanwhile

The club seemingly works on a single transfer at a time so this is unlikely.

Need this concluded 1 way or another this week. Because as it stands, we've signed 1 player which is no where near enough.

If he's waiting for Liverpool, then "move on" as we don't have time for this to go on weeks and weeks

Just realised it's only a month to the start of the season :howe:

I know most people don't want do this for real obvious reasons, but watching the compilation clips makes it REALLY obvious why the club wants him or someone of similar profile.

What we need to do is sign Ekitike asap, and then in the announcement video, Isak does a long drawn out emotional farewell…

… to his number 14 shirt…

… passing it over to Hugo…

… only for it to be revealed when the camera pans out that Alex is in the number 9 shirt.

Number 9 and Number 14 stand next to each other…

… dramatic music…

… They both turn to camera, smile…

… and say in unison “You Never Walk Alone”…

Cut to black. And scene!

Really shove it down Liverpools throat.
