Not really, keeping Isak is always my top top priority. If letting Liverpool got Ekitite can help to retain Isak I am genuinely happy for that. No matter how good Ekitike could be he won’t be as good as Isak, the best striker currently in the world.

Submit a second bid for Ekitike, keep it on the table and move on. Let Liverpool respond.

 

Keep telling Liverpool to get to fuck re. Isak, if required.

 

Three scenarios where Liverpool have leverage over us:

 

- Isak tries to force a move (might do, but unlikely)

- We need to sell for PSR (N/A)

- Ekitike is literally our only striker target and we're desperate for him

They are only bluffing if they end up with neither player?

 

I'm sure isak is by far the guy they want but if they can't get him and they sign Ekitike im struggling to see the bluff here. 

 

They've obviously overplayed the hand they had but it's basically a free option for them.

I've said it before but in this PSR world we are in everyone is targeting the exact same profile of player (except the weirdos in Munich) this is why we see everyone chasing the same players and paying mad fees and wages. 

The weirdoes in Munich are on the verge of signing Nick Woltemade, who was my next choice after Ekitike. He's basically the German version, same age, same lanky build, same attributes. Odd that these spindly, elegant, creative forwards are so much in vogue nowadays. Akliouche is another one, and possibly attainable, but hasn't put up the impressive G/A numbers yet.

I think it’s just a case of whoever is involved in this at Liverpool have leaked out to Romano / Orny (or someone else who those two trust with information), that they are interested in Isak but we’re not interested in selling, and so the club is looking at other deals which Etitike is one.

 

Romano / Orny then have gone off on a wild one these past few days tweeting for traffic, where eventually even Orny had to pull back as he knows fuck all and likely knows how dumb it was with no solid information. But damage done for him.
