When Messi was ripping it up in La Liga, he topped the most losses of possession stat in the league season after season. If losing the ball is so bad to you when trying to play progressively, perhaps go enjoy watching a team managed by Russell Martin instead.

He played like a Brazilian international against a League 1 side.  He ran the game and largely did what he wanted to do.

Some have turned on him on here.  Very tough on him.  Which is weird because he’s our only midfielder that can find incisive passes consistently.

I thought he was a candidate for MOTM.

He absolutely bossed it I thought, was dictating and switching play brilliantly. But I don't think he should have played more than half a game considering he needed resting from an important PL game.

Just a bump to say he's probably my favourite NUFC player of all-time and absolutely love the bloke. Brilliant club captain, seems to bring it all together. Was thinking it's probably going to be the next year or so when he'll be at his peak value to sell for PSR but sod that, I want him here as our Vincent Kompany and he's here until he's 33-34 after seeing it all the way through with us. Beautiful player, beautiful man.

Personally think his window for maximum PSR value has gone. Not today we can’t get good money.

I am sentimental.  But players that really get it. You keep around unless you really have to sell.  I don’t see us moving beyond him on the pitch for atleast 2 years.

Moving on Pope, Schar, Tripps, Burn, Lascelles, Bruno, Joelinton, Murphy, Krafthu, Tonali

I dont get that same connection with Willock, Gordon, Botman etc.

Bruno is brilliant when he moves the ball about quickly and plays instinctively. When he try’s too hard he gets closed down and hopes to draw a foul often losing the ball in a key areas. I feel sometimes he can let he ego take over thinking can do everything on his own.

Think hes declined compared to a few years ago tbh, seems to have no consistency any more, probably has more poor gsmes than good.

he needs a couple of months off.

gets flogged by us, travels half way round the world to get flogged by his national team, then travels back again with barely a break.

yeah, he was nowhere. Not in the game at all, and not sure what he was supposed to be doing.

It was a bonkers decision for him and Joelinton to play 90 minutes midweek to be honest.

Just don't understand why we flog certain players at all considering the fuss we make about our overloaded schedule. I said in the 4-1 win over Bradford as well, just seemed unnecessary.

Yep.

Didn’t understand the start. Didn’t understand the 90 minutes. To then go and do a shift like that? Non stop running?

Love edddie and I back him to the hilt. But it’s been weird recently
